I just love watching you make cards, think I'm addicted to watching, my Dad said are you actually going to make any cards lol, but I have 12x12 paper pads, but not much plain card like the dark card you use as a background also no embellishments or peel offs & not much double sided tape and pads, not allowed to buy anything as I'm off work sick so only getting SSP 😢 Cant wait to buy some plain card, thank you so much for sharing your ideas xxx
I just absolutely love all the cards you make and your videos are so relaxing to watch. An hour well spent for sure. Where do you get all your solid colour cardstock? The tones are so rich and beautiful and you have so many different shades.

I appreciate how you embellish the sketches to make them pop. I often see the sketch and thing "boring." Then I see what you do and think "Wow!" I need to learn how to add those little things that make all the difference. I do have a question...you show us the scraps from the patterned papers, but never from the cardstock used. Do you have many of those? Is it easier to to use up a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock (less scrap) than an 8.5 x 11? Still curious how you plan out which sketches to use the paper the best and the amount of cardstock -- although my guess is that you've done so many of these stacks that you don't have to think much about it anymore. :-) Thanks for the inspiration!
Irene Grau Thank you! I appreciate your kindness. I’ve always loved using card sketches, especially when I can add my own little touches to them. I have shown a peek at the cardstock pile on my Instagram page a couple times. There’s generally not a lot leftover. And I do save all the larger cardstock pieces and store them in a set of drawers. I don’t have a preference which size cardstock I use. Just whatever is available in the right colors. I really just select one sketch at a time while I’m crafting. I have been making card this way for a long time, so selecting sketches is pretty easy for me. 😊

Judy Brown Lizi’s kits are very fun and unique. Not usually something that is available in the US. I know the international shipping is a bit pricey. I have heard of friends ordering together to split the shipping. And there are sales once in awhile. Monthly subscribers do get the advantage of no additional shipping fees when they order add ons to the monthly kit. 🙂
I must update my comment.......... I watched Kristie's videos (binged sort of) and had SUCH A BUG to try Love from Lizi so decided to bite the bullet on the shipping and it arrived in 3 days!!!! OMG everything I got is amazing. I spent about $150 with shipping but honestly the papers and the peel offs are luscious. I'm SO in love with Lizi 's kits and additional packs. Thank you so much for introducing me to her paper wares. I was getting a big "flat" with my ideas and you have rekindled my art room with Love from Lizi (and Love from Kristie). Thank you so much. Rebecca Grace Thank you! I really don’t know how much paper I’ll need. Especially with the mega packs. I just try to have plenty on hand. Sometimes I do run out of the perfect color for matting. Then I’ll just switch to another color that I know will still work. 🙂
I've got to say, I think this is my favorite Lizi kit. All the purple warms my heart (I'm sure you're ready for some pink right about now!) and I love the semi-nautical prints. I live in the northeastern U.S., so we're all about the nautical over here. My favorite paper is the purple anchors. Wonderful set of cards, Kristie. I highly enjoyed every minute of this video!!!

In which way do you choose your sketches? Does it depend on the materials which one you choose or only which one you like best...and than looking for which materials to use for them?
Das A-Team When I first get started, I tend to use new-to-me sketches. Other times, I select sketches that will work well with the pattern papers or a specific image/sentiment I want to use. As I continue, I look for sketches that best fit the paper scraps available. 🙂
@@KristieMarcotte do you have your Sketches digital and print it out just in time or do you already have a collection of favorite sketches printed in your creative space? I downloaded some sketches but I didn't find a good start. I will try a series with one 6“ paper pad. Maybe you can also show us your prepping routine before starting in a video? For me as a beginner its nice to see other creative peoples workflow.
I have a stack of sketches already printed with measurements all figured out. I also save all the sketches on a Pinterest board as well. I do plan on doing a video showing a bit more prep sometime this year.

ANDREA JACOBSEN If I don’t have the colors I need, I do take the 6x6 paper pad or paper collection to the store. That way I know the colors will coordinate. I usually buy my cardstock from Joann’s when it’s on sale. 🙂
