No engine change whether it's electric or diesel, no matter how long journey is, change only if next section is electrified or diesel.
I travell to my native place fully electrified route, 42 hrs journey with same engine.
Loco changes used to happen earlier but now loco pilots are changed acc. to shifts
72 percent of our Railways will be electrified by this year. So diesel engines will be rare.
Which place do u travel from n to where ?
In India when a train starts its journey from the starting station it comes from the locomotive siding yard the engineers do certify that the enginee shall keep on trouble free running upto 3000kms.
Bangalore -- Agartala Humsafar express jab assam k hill station Haflong se gujarta hai to ghumke upar uthneka view bahut sundar hota hai .
23 platforms in howrah stations and 21 in sealdah stations ....both stations are in same city kolkata at different locations
Even it is 18 hrs journey you can sleep 10 hrs happyly..no change one engine throughout journey unless if no electricity

Maharashtra ki Cherapunji kahete he , Maharashtra me sabse jada barish Igatpuri me hoti he,,, Igatpuri me International Meditation center Dhamma giri he. Aap google surch karke dekh sakte he. Igatpuri gaon ki khusurti.....I love my Igatpuri and my Beautiful India 💕💞

It is not a dead end. It is parallel line. There is no term called dead end in railways. If a station is the end of a line, it is called terminal. For example, Chennai is a terminal.
It acts like a dead end, it is called a "catch siding" in Indian railways, you can spot it on @21:20 it ends on a steep gradient, Moazzam was correct, it is used in emergency situations to control trains and stop them, though I don't recall any recent incident in which these were used. One catch siding is also present near monkey hill station on Pune-Mumbai line.

At kasara ghat (It also called 'thal ghat थळ घाट)there is 8 tunnels on one line and 7 on other line as it has double line one for up n other for down route.

Igatpuri is a small hill station in Nashik district.
They can't read Hindi script.... they can only speak it. So you have to write somehow in English or Urdu script (which you don't know to write)
