We love St. John and St. Thomas and have been to Jost Van Dyke a couple times and had a blast. What we found is that it was a little cheaper to stay, fly, rent a car, and do self guided stuff at St. Croix. There is snorkeling right off shore and great beaches.
We love the Virgin Islands. went to St Johns before Irma took its toll on it. Painkillers on Jost Van Dyke were well...painless...until the next day.
