Nice to see a part of Florida that hasn't been given to Developers and where you can still put your hands in the water without getting a flesh eating disease. Beautiful video and I can hear the speaking just fine
Many thanks for this production. I've had the pleasure of trekking that wilderness in Taylor county and Jefferson county. It is a spiritual experience.
I think this is real cool. I lived down there when I was young and never knew that much about it, other than is was a great place to go swimming boating and fishing.
Excellent work! I really enjoyed this production you've done. Thanks for sharing your wealth of information in such an enjoyable way. Keep up the good work mate!
I would very much like to kayak along the river the short video I just watched was so enchanting and am looking forward to a visit very soon, I live just 1/2 mile away
My enslaved ancestors were sold in Virginia and shipped by Gov James Barbour from Fredericksburg, VA to Florida, up the Aucilla in the 1820s. I would love to connect with people with knowledge of that history.
Has anybody ever paddled UP the Slave Canal from the Aucilla? And back down? I want to do it! I’ve been to the Canal many times but never through it. I have the tricky route memorized. Paddling back up that south end is borederline dangerous now though, as that rocky water has gotten really swift over time. Obviously shuttling vehicles is a possibility but I want to do it my way by myself if possible.
I have a paddling acquaintance who always starts at the boat ramp on the Aucilla, paddles up the Slave Canal to Goose Pasture and back down. I don't do that with him, I go with the flow downstream from Goose Pasture. At times paddling that short distance upstream on the Aucilla to the boat ramp is tough.

I can't believe how clean it looks!
I just want to cover myself in Deet watching you cruise through those tight waters with those majestic canopies.

The magic of going down a river in a canoe or kayak is mind bogling. Our rivers in Québec are quite impressive. Come on up! North that is!
Wow....that was an amazing adventure and learning experience for me...
I live in Taylor Co. And I love it here.

I can't imagine the natives taking cargo all the way down the river to the gulf and then back up through the center of State to get to Saint Augustine

@@francesstone7082 I did it last summer! Was a fun day...couldn’t believe all the mullet. They were so thick I snagged 2 of them.
Living in Tampa Florida I have a tocobaga mound right by my house, they must have traveled down
The crow telling animal's your here 🙂
I wish I could hear the commentary over the music 😢
Great video (used headphones)
Thank You
Does the Cody Escarpment cause the elevation change and rapids?
Beautiful and unique iam thankful that this has not been raped and ruined like most of florida has.
👍🏻👍🏻
The music is way too loud, as it drowns out the speech
Great fishing there. So much ancient history in Florida. I've lived in it damn near 60 years. Lets Go Brandon!!!
Slave Canal? Why?
It was hand dug by slaves I've been down it you can see the marks from the pick axes in the limerock and the stones are hand stacked along it's banks
Slave canal triggers me.
I hope this River doesn't get ruined like the rest of them. I've been kayaking the Florida Rivers all my life the Northerners come and ruin everything
My mamma drug down many a canoe trip on theWacissa and slave canal in the 70's and 80's. We canoed every river in North and central Florida back then.
The content is great but the music is so bad. Wrong vibe for such great tranquil scenery

Don't let the Chinese come here.....
Music is a bit too epic. Can’t even hear the narrator. Thumbs down.
