He is using performance mode, which allows you to load up up to 16 patterns of those 16 step sequences you mentioned. Then those 16 patterns can be plotted out on another step sequencer to make up the time of your song. Or you can manually click each pattern and play the song that way
Yeah no problem! I'm really an advocate of the DS-10. I think its awesome and for $30.00 in some cases in the states you can't get a better music instrument (assuming you own a DS)
The DS-10 actually has 6 synth. The "drum" channels, if you dig deeper, are just more copies of the MS-10 synths like the first two channels, and have almost all the same capability, including being able to sequence different notes. They have some limitations, but also some benefits. MS-10 -- more powerful than you think at first!
@Slowpode Actually, this is a cover of the original 1979 version of "Rydeen" by YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra). The later C64 version was an 8-bit cover of "Rydeen".
That's a very nice rendition of this C64 classic!. Nice way of linking more than 16 patterns by the way. Of course, that requires some more hardware but that's got to be the price to pay for such a nice tune!
@@nojot0 Years late, but for anybody else who finds this, Daley Thompson's Decathlon for Commodore 64 by Ocean uses an unlicensed cover of "Rydeen" as its intro music. For more unlicensed "Rydeen", there's also the Sega arcade game Super Locomotive.
It's not an original composition. And you could have checked that by googling the name before jumping to conclusions. It's very well done cover with such a software and really shows what can be done if one has enough skill.
@longdivision87 He didn't compose it, Yellow Magic Orchestra did. 30 years ago. He did a nice job arranging it, though, even if he cheated by using two DS's.

This is awesome.
DUDE, AMERICA FIRST!

Nice work, I'm glad that someone else is trying to use their DS-10 for melodic songs and not just repetitive patterns. Really good tones too.

It's my belief that good music is good music, how you achieve it is irrelevent.
Totally agree with this statement.. although based on his nickname - i'm now not so certain ;)
Someone thinks he cheated by using 2 DS's. Some people are very hard to please. This is a very sophisticated piece of work.
It's really close to the original and retains that popping "realtime chiptune" quality.
Congratulations, this sounds like a masterpiece to me.
Akiko Yano would groove to it.

Brilliant work. Well done 👏🏻
I love it! sounds great
Congratulations !!!
Wow! Extremely well done. That lead sound is spot on!
>meron144

Rydeen actually originated from a band called Yellow Magic Orchestra. Someone must've made a C64 version, I'll have to check that out.

Great Performance!! I love YMO,too.
@ZenPunk Thanks, now I know it my life will never be the same as before. Kidding :) , greetings and thanks for the info! :)
A fine rendition of this timeless classic!🎮🎹
Superb!
Great stuff there. Never actually seen a Korg DS 10 cart in an actual shop.

Man you rocked the DS 10 hard. I want to get a DSi so I can use the new on Plus version.
This is fucking awesome.
Wish I could do that with my DSI
Amazing! Again, congrats!
@keybern: do you own DS-10? If so, you know that you can program the sequences to be played in a certain order. without touching the nds once...
welcome back k^^^^^
Flippin' cool!
AMAZING job on this!
Great cover!
OMG! This is another level!
Congrats! :D

awesome! I just got a hold of an ARP 2600. Needs some repair work... can't wait until I get it up and running :D
wow, great sounds... old school!
Jesus! This is perfect!
You have good taste.
I actually like this. A. LOT.
HELL YEAHHHHHH.

This song remind me final fantasy 7, what amazing soundtrack!! Very good job man!!! Nice composition!!
It's a song by Yellow Magic Orchestra.
I mean... like could I find this at GameStop or something like that?
Epic.
AYOYE!!! YMO... :-)
1:03 sounds like an old snes game that i use to play, i forgot what it's called
So like the original< great job !!
shitttt this is so dope good job
@longdivision87
Really? Which song in Final Fantasy VII does it remind you of?
great job on this.
yellow magic orchestra?
-saliva falls from mouth-
How did you get more than 2 synth lines in the beginning? One DS was playing a song while the other was loading.
wow why do I need other apps for music making!
install real player and the download button appear on IE (Internet Explorer) :)
Where could I find this software? I have a Nintendo 3DS and I'm wondering if it's compatible.
