    I love them both - yet that little quaker has my heart. You can just 'see' he has that little sweet/onery side that I love. Heard your mention of another book! Gonna have to check it out, now.... Hope you're well! :)

    Can you do a video on what your daily routine is like with all the birds? Like how they all get rotated out of their cages for time spent out of the cage etc?

    May I ask what the average lifespan of a Hahns Macaw is?

    I had two Quaker’s when I was a kid. Loved them dearly, but they are definitely sassy little toddlers lol😂 My husband and I are considering getting a hahns or a green cheek. Both seem to be a good “starter” birds. I am amazed at how similar hahns and Quaker’s are 😮
    I know green cheeks seem to do better by themselves, rather than being paired or having a friend, but do I really need another bird or another hahns if i do decide to go with a hahns?
    And do hahns like and bond with all family members? I was considering either a green cheek or hahns because I’ve heard they are great with kids and other family members if you work with them frequently. I know both the GC and Hahns are different when it to wanting attention and being boisterous, but I don’t mind!
    Anyway, just discovered your channel it’s been fun and informative!

    I agree. If I had to pick, I would pick a Hahn’s. I have heard that Quakers can be very nippy and very cage aggressive. I can’t imagine a Hahn’s being louder or noisier than my Caiques.

    • @ParrotBliss

      Yeah, based on my experience, if you had a Quaker I would expect you would not find them to be biting or cage aggressive-

    This video was very informative. I've told about Drago before. I was always told to give him pellet and never seeds so I haven't I do give him vegies and fruits some timed a little bread. As I watched you video I gave him some seeds he ate them out of my hand, He loves me but some day he just wants on his cage to play with his toys. When I rescued him he was bald from barbering all the time. He is no longer bald but over the years of barbering his feather have bald spots and grow funny. I give him milk thistle/dandelion oil. for his liver. He seams to love the sunflower seeds. I so enjoy your shows. Drago was screaming at the screen when Emerald talked. Drago wants to kill all my other birds so he can.t be near them.

    Do they get along with each other? Thinking of getting a quaker to keep the hahns company.

      They don't fight, but they haven't befriended each other. They both were in a home with no other birds, so they don't know how to relate with another bird, which is terribly sad- they don't know how to have the companionship they crave from another bird, only from a human.

      @@ParrotBliss Yes they are. It is the very first bird I ever owned. I got my "macaw" that is not too big that it intimidates me and it is not too small that it scares me too much to take care of it.
      Story: My best friend have several species and A LOT of birds. I was visiting her and she wanted to find out about scarlet macaws. I googled for her and below the article was photos of other macaw species and I saw a photo of this little green macaw. I (who at the time has never owned a bird in her life) looked at my friend and said "I want this bird" I fell in love instantly and after even more in love the more I learned and found out about them.

    Do you suggest to get egg and hatch it at home or getting a bird from store. Also if you can make a video on how to feed and take care of a just hatched bird, would be great

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My avian vet has seen a lot of eggs hatch and be something else. I do not reccommend it. Feeding a newbord is challenging- super! You have to know when and what to feed them, they are not the same as a 1 day old or older baby. You will be so much happier getting a bird from a store or breeder! I promise!

    Hi! How do you know what the best way is to start your flock?
    I recently lost my sweet Cape parrot boy😢
    I love parrots and have worked with a few different species.
    I am looking to start again and would love to get a Cape again. There are a few other species that I would also love to have and I am trying to think what would be the best way to bould up my flock?
    I also had a very close relationship with my Cape and would love to have the same with my new bird.
    Thank you!!

    I have 2 quakers... no Hahn's in China. I agree they bond very well. My boy quaker never bites and he is very cute. The only issue is that the boy quaker keeps chewing on my neck and it's painful. I take him off when he does it but he keeps coming back. I've tried wearing a scarf but he digs under it. The quakers get on well with my GCCs (but they don't share a cage as the GCCs are moody)

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Quaker does the same, picking my neck for attention- do your Quakers and GCC get along?

    • @Matthew-zp3iz
      @Matthew-zp3iz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ParrotBliss Yes they generally get on well, though one GCC is moody as hell and sometimes becomes aggressive with my male quaker... I don't know the gender of either of my 2 GCCs but they get on very well with the female quaker; they mutually preen. Here in China only lovebirds, cockatiels, a few spp. of Pyrrhura conures and quakers are legal
