North Cornwall Coast at its very best. What a lovely film advertising Cornwall. It is lovely also to see the choughs....Proud to be Cornish Sarah, I will endorse that. Super bit of filming.
You two sell Cornwall very well. Another top film. ...All the times we have been to Cornwall and having walked the S.W.C.P. in its entirety, i still to see a Chough , but maybe in September on my next visit.
This is one part I remember well. I was a lot younger then so would stay clear of going down them now! Wish I had know all this info you have given when we first went. My legs ached when I saw you going back up... Keep up the good work as you are a great help to those who will visit Cornwall. Warm greetings, Julie.
Thank you for making this wonderful video and taking me back to Bedruthan Steps! I was lucky enough to explore this area this past May. It was high tide when we arrived, we walked to Porthmeor and back, picked up our kids at the Newquay airport and HAD to show them this amazing location. It was low tide of course, by then so we enjoyed a stroll on the beach! Up and down those steps twice!! But so very worth it. I'm looking forward to your video of the circular walk to Porthmeor. We just went along the coast trail and back, so it will be nice to see how to make it a circular walk! You two do such a fantastic job and I always enjoy a laugh (or two) from you videos!
Thanks for your comment! Up and down those steps twice - congrats! The Porthmear circular walk will be ready at the end of this month. I am currently working on a Zennor walk video, to be published this Friday, and should be editing it now but just got home from work and thought I would have a cup of tea first!! Sarah :)
Bedruthan Steps and a chouch :-) Brilliant. We walked past the steps at low tide last year, but we had an 18 km walk that day from Harlyn Bay to Mawgan Porth, so we chose not to use extra time and effort to walk down to the beach. It was really lovely to watch it now :)
Just back from a week in Dorset and the glorious beaches on the coast. That was one amazing beach there as well and what a place to have peace and quite. Them steps looked a canny pull up mind but well worth it to have a deserted beach all to yourselves. What a way to finish off the day with lemon drizzle cake - yum! Cheers Alan
Took the kids here when they were little many times...they loved the deep rock pools that form around the stacks there and tales of Giant's footsteps! It's a truly Cornish scene and one which sticks in your mind forever. And Choughs as well! The nearest I can get to a Chough down here is the pub called The Three Daws which has been standing since around 1485 and was originally called the The Cornish Chough, and then later The Three Choughs! It was right next to my ancestors' brewery along the riverside., long since gone, & is the oldest in Kent I believe. They are such lovely elusive birds, you were lucky to spot them up there! Love your walks....J x
Becket's brewery. Did some family ancestry history and discovered that the place I've been sitting for years by the riverside since I moved to Kent from London was the very spot on which my ancestors had a brewery back in the late 1700's! Strange how I'd always felt ''at home'' there, peaceful and calm! As for testing the brew....who knows?!! Maybe I'm a reincarnation of one of them...although I doubt it, as I don't actually drink at all!!!!! :-)))
Oh, that's well worth knowing, purple and yellow look so good together and just sing on film, especially with a drop of sunshine; noted! Thank you, Sarah :)
This is a fantastic place to be, sadly, my partner Tricia can't handle the steps due to bad knees and a fear of heights. I don't think my legs could cope either. I remember the days when I ran up those steps effortlessly. Nostalgia can be so overwhelming.
Well, Chris, anytime you want to visit Bedruthan, please join us and watch the video again - perhaps a virtual trip, if second best, will be better than none at all! Wishing you all the best, Sarah :)
Stunning views. And they should have named the rock that lost his head Marie Antoinette :) Did you plan to meet the subscribers or did you just ran into them?
Hi Carola, Love the new name idea! We were 'spotted' by the subscribers (not for the first time!). They came up and introduced themselves! Lovely people! Sarah :)
There's not much to see and last time we visited, the beach was shut still so not much to film and talk about really. I'm sure the National Trust website would be more useful. Sarah :)
Thanks for replying about bedruthan trail will enjoy this I have wonderful painting bought in the shop there in 60s. My sister bought it unfortunately I can’t read the signature on it but she always says it was painted by a relation of a famous Cornish artist.
For anyone inspired to visit and wanting to walk on the beach, please note the steps were destroyed by a cliff fall in winter 2020, and there is no longer any beach access (as at March 2021).
There was a Doc Martin espisode about the choughs when Bert Large tried opening up a chough tourism site in Port Wenn for financial opportunity that ultimately failed. Lol.
@@CornishWalkingTrails Hi Sarah. I'm tickled pick that the hostess from Cornwall reaches out to a gal in Texas. I visited Port Isaac two years ago, driving a rental from Oxford and had the pleasure of a chance encounter with Ian McNiece, who plays Burt Large in Doc Martin. You'll find the storyline about the choughs in Series 2, Episode 9.
Oh thank you! Must look that one up, I have the box set here! Love Bert, always up to some hair-brained scheme! We met him too - he was sitting in Port Isaac Plaza, collecting for the RNLI, if you are interested it's on our channel. ;) He is lovely! Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails Are you familiar with Port Isaac Fisherman's Friends singing group? They are such a sensation: th-cam.com/video/AYA_0R7Vw1s/w-d-xo.html They are so gifted, currently touring around the country and have a movie released this year about them, co-starring James Purefoy in Fisherman's Friends. I can't wait to see the movie. I think Ian McNeice said in an interview he was collecting for this group a few years ago. Hope you get to see the movie so we can compare notes. Lovely chatting with you.
do use know how to get to fishermans cove please.. im coming up to st ives next saturday, but i dont think ill be using there beaches... be absolutely bloody busy.. and i want to see fishermans cove :)
I think you will be fine - it's raining! Fisherman's cove is nr Gwithian, park in the 1st North cliffs car park you come to and take the footpath after the SWCP as you head back towards the lighthouse. No bathing suits required!! Sarah :)
Beautiful, informative, entertaining. We will be there as tourists in October, thanks to your delightful videos.
Thank you! And I am so glad to hear we are helpful in your choice of holiday! Delighted! Sarah :)

I really hope you find a chough - I get over excited and forget to breath because I don't want them to fly away! Sarah :)
Amazing. Very good video.
Many thanks! Sarah :)
Wonderful video Sarah and Andrew. Beautiful scenery!
Hi, Thank you! The coast line looks amazing on this strech of the coast. I would love to visit in a storm - imagine! Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails That would be soooo good to see!
Absolutely stunning beach and the weather looked perfect. Fantastic that you saw choughs too, we've yet to see one.
Hi Diana, I think it is more likely that you will see a chough down west - fingers crossed that you get the chance! Sarah :)

Hi Julie, Lovely comment - thank you! Bedruthan is beautiful and can make your legs ache!! Sarah :)

Its true about the giant!! He stepped on the rocks while eating hes pasty so not to get hes feet wet ...You take us to some lovely places guys ....
Of course! We forgot that he would be munching a pasty! Ha! Ha! Sarah :)
If you walk the other way towards Mawgan Porth there is a fantastic area of Heather and yellow flowers at this time of year, well worth a vist.
Oh, that's well worth knowing, purple and yellow look so good together and just sing on film, especially with a drop of sunshine; noted! Thank you, Sarah :)
Oh I remember those steps. Could not manage them now I think.
Was there in July beautiful as usual, did you notice the face of Bedruthan looking at his steps from the land slip on Park Head ?
Oooh no! We will have to have another look when we visit next time! that sounds really interesting! Sarah :)

We visit Cornwall every year and just have to be content with viewing this beach from the clifftop, your video certainly added to my enjoyment.
Cheers Chris and I will keep my fingers crossed for some settled weather for you both! Sarah :)
The steps were closed 23/06/21 due to a rock fall so could not access the beech, but still amazing views and scenery, well worth the trip.
wow look at all those mussels bit of butter some wine and garlic cant go wrong
