    I live in NC, and Bojangles is a cultural thing here. They have my favorite bone-in chicken and I love their fries too. Usually very well seasoned. Sometimes the quality can fluctuate depending on the location. The one close to me is really good, but I've had a few times at other locations where it felt like a different restaurant due to lower quality.

      Yeah, I was wondering how far down in the comments I'd have to go to find this. My wife's opinion of them has kind of been tainted by some of the bad ones around here. One of them was so bad that they were literally only serving one thing when I came in at peak lunch rush (wish I could remember what it was). Too much "freedom" in regards to quality control from one franchisee to another or something.

    • @danielpruitt8550
      @danielpruitt8550 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree the quality control could use an increase in terms of fries seasoning and I think the tea recently has been over brewed, I brew my own tea at home so they should reduce the temp about 15 degrees, and lowers the brew time to about 6 minutes of possible.

    Funny story: years ago I had a phone interview for a job in TX. At the end one of the interviewers wanted to ask one more question. I said ok. He then asks, in all seriousness, if I had Bojangles in my neck of the woods 😅.
    It was so unexpected and funny. I told him yes and that I went there occasionally.
    He explained that he used to live in NC and he missed it (made sense).
    I’ll never forget that. I don’t blame him. I’d miss it too. Popeyes and Bojangles are the top two fried chicken places in VA as far as chains are concerned.

    Bojangles has been a chicken place my mom and i always liked ever since i was 6 years old. The spice was always a favorite of both of ours. But over the decades we went less and less. Not because we grew tired of it, but because other places cropped up over time. Chick-fil-a, Pop-eyes, Raising Canes etc. etc. And we only thought about Bojangles whenever we would drive by one of their locations which only ever looked disused and slow. But to my surprise i saw an ad only recently on tv at a hospital i was visiting (my grandmother was staying there for recovery) for Bojangles of all things! And then 4 days ago i saw you uploaded a video! So i'm glad that you covered them and that they're going strong!
    Your videos are always a wonderful source of entertainment and nostalgia for me, my friend, and my family too. :> Keep up the great work!

    I heard about Bojangles from a friend who loves them, but I really dig how you went into where the name originated. I was born, and raised, in Houston, TX and my old man was huge into the outlaw country/cosmic cowboy movement with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson along with Texas folk country stars such as Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Steven Fromholz, and Rusty Wier plus Jerry Jeff Walker. Walker came from New York state and landed in Florida moved to Louisiana, where he wrote the song, and then set up shop in Austin with his Lost Gonzo Band and recorded, mostly live, his brilliant 1973 album Viva Terlingua that helped highlight Guy Clark's songs and Gary P. Nunn. So, you did this old Texan's heart some good by doing the research on the name and the connection to that song and to the late Bill Robinson. Keep up the good stuff.

    As long as Bojangles doesn't lose that Southern style and flavor, I'll be glad to welcome a franchise to my town! If I could, I'd advise them to start with neighboring states and expand in widening circles. People seem likely to share tastes and to adopt new tastes from friends and neighbors.

    20 years ago my friends and I were on a road trip to North Carolina, and I said I've driven past that Bojangles sign on every family trip since when I was younger. We've gotta go in. So we did, and they had the best sweet tea I've ever had in my life. The tea was fresh, and you could taste the tea bags. Not only that, but the fried chicken, dirty rice, and biscuits were awesome. We liked their tea so much that we bought liters of it on the way back home. They opened one in Maryland like 10 years ago, but it wasn't the same. They can't do it like they do in the south. Man that sweet tea was legendary. Sweet tea wasn't popular until around that summer, and I kinda give credit to Bojangles for starting the trend even though I know it's probably not accurate. There's a new one about 22 miles away from me, but I just don't want to be disappointed again. I don't think anything up north can compare to the south.

    5:36 This is incorrect. I'm not sure what change you're referring to when you say they started a boneless chicken menu in 2021. But I worked at a Bojangles from 2009 to 2011 and they definitely had boneless chicken then. In fact, the pictured meal at 5:36 is called a "4 piece supreme dinner" and, speaking as a cashier, it was far and away the most popular item on the menu at the Bojangles I worked at (at lunchtime/dinner time anyway). I myself ate it pretty much every workday, and occasionally for years both before and after working there.
