It’s no biggie really tho I just sneak up there and klep the special outfit after I’ve already done the ending anyway because if you parkour you can get up there in the open world.

It actually isn't the exact same apartment. It's the same layout, but in a different location. When David is going up the elevator in Episode 7, just before we see him in the apartment, You can see the background with the moon that is identical to the view from Lucy's apartment. Meaning David's and Lucy's penthouse also has to be in Japantown
It is the same appartment but Trigger took some creative liberties throughout the Edgerunners series. For example the door leading to Lucy's original appartment door is actually the fire escape in Judy's appartment block. 🤣 So this is the real appartment but Trigger changed the exterior scenery.
@@nessnake123 Hmmm... When David and Lucy moved into that appartment it was halfway through the series after David and crew were very successful; so they likely had a ton of Eddies to throw around. In Cyberpunk 2077 the appartment apparently belonged to Corpo V (back when they were the right hand of the 2nd in command at Arasaka Counterintel); so I'm guessing it became available shortly after the end of Edgerunners after the crew had fallen apart. As to who the appartment belongs to, I'm guessing some kind of rich landlord or corporation that deals in luxury appartments. So I guess anyone could move in as long as they can pay the rent.🙂

Well it’s not the exact same apartment that David and Lucy were in, since theirs has the same view of the spaceport that her initial one did, but it is the apartment the animators used for David and Lucy’s rich life one.
It's probably some sort of box apartment, basically the same design scattered around the town. Since every megablock is owned by some corp, they are probably built in the same way all across, and every top floor of those has the same type of penthouse
_I mean, it's just them reusing interiors for the anime and to appeal to people who had played the game before, pretty sure V's first apartment gets used as David's first apartment, as well as Judy's becoming Lucy's apartment._

Pretty poetic the pent house of your (v’s) dreams is only a few blocks away. Especially in night city where the only real difference between the rich and poor is a bad day.
I remember glitching my way up to the penthouse, took awhile and a lot of random jumps trying to get higher up the mega building and outside, sure enough I got to a point where it was just a matter of not taking so much fall damage when jumping onto the penthouse lawn, got lucky one try when sliding and something when falling glitched and I kept my double jump on (if you don’t know, if you start falling too far then double jump no work) but I managed to get it, then I went and took all the stuff and had to find a way down, it was fun making my way up there.
It does not seem to be the same apartment as Edgerunners. The layout is the same but David's was in Charter Hill. You can see from the view we got from the inside in the anime looking outside. The buildings are completely different and look similar to the ones in Charter Hill.
It hurts though after watching Edgerunners that basically David and Lucy used to sleep in that same apartment. Since by the time 2077 comes around David’s been dead for about a year while Lucy just kind of vanished on the moon, never to be heard from again after basically violently losing her entire crew. Nobody truly knows what happened to her. Some say she went on to live her life on the moon. Others say she died shortly after the end of edgerunners. Feels tragic.
I have a save from years ago when 2077 first came out and you could super easily get to it by slipping through was and exploiting the no damage slide/fall glitch. Got all of the items in my inventory still.
The animation studio used game screenshot references to create the background in the show. It made the job easier and kept the design consistent with the game. You can find most, if not all, locations in the game.
I remember using the double dash to get out of bounds and into that house early in the game and I still never made the symbolic connection that both have a view at each other :D
So Lucy and David had V's appartent put into Edgerunners, and Johnny got an NPC Lucy in The Star ending. To me it's kinda Ironic. It fails to hammer home just how awful life is at the lower rungs in Cyberpunk settings.
Then again, I guess we already know how bad it is.
For quite some time, i began to "notice" (thanks to "Repo Men"), that plenty of "happy endings" in action movies, and some games, looks like dream or DELIRIUM (and lets HOPE not a "deathbed one"). :((( And by strange coincidence, in some of them, the dream/delirium part happens after the main character was hit to head or lost consciousness...
There is not much movies i see as of late, but that feeling happens too often when i do.
