actually yuji is baby too, because he just learned jujutsu while he knows nothing about curses back then so yuji has same experience with mahito and mahito was already special grade (on power tier) even without knowing any techniques while yuji barely uses curse energy so its clear yuji still better because he was very good even when he was just student and very good at learning jujutsu too (sorry if anything confusing, im not native eng speaker)

Tbh, itadori is not really a fictional personality. He is pretty real.
1. Yea he didn't cry about all that, but with 15 years old, he was already a su*c*de person, not caring about his own life, plus he'd die against mahito after losing his will if Todo hadn't appeared there. He is the type of person that doesn't cry, but suffer alone.
2. He chose to live just because in his mind, he is guilty of a lot of people's death, so he didn't want to die being just a killer, but a hero. The example above is something that makes you think "I just have the option to live, I can't die", it's the same thing as having childs and don't think about su*c*de cause you have to take care of them.
3. He also had a lot of sorceres helping him with his mental willness.
So as long as you saw a relative or friend die, as long as you didn't have a good childhood ( a lot of people ), and as long as you suffered a huge pain in your body, like breaking an arm or getting stabbed, you did suffered like as much as Yuji.
