Kids today will never know going to a record shop and spending hours digging through vinyl. That was my favorite part of doing gigs in different cities was going to the record shops and just listening and buying records. Hahaha funny how mr cook stopped before he said technics. Haha they don't know what 1200s are haha
i mean a fair amount of teens still go out and buy vinyls, i go out to boston every weekend to find some, you can’t gatekeep the experience to one generation
@@marxp956 all depends on where you live, access to records, etc. but i will agree most of my gen (2005-07 ish) don’t really get into it anymore. i can see their view though; it’s expensive, spotify exists, etc, which probably is a key factor in the decline of vinyl as a whole
Love Fat Boy Slim! Saw him for first time in 97. It was a DJ set in Chicago when he was touring a Better living thru Chemistry . I wasn’t expecting a DJ set but it was great. Hard to believe he is still Djing and I think his sets just get better and better. If you aren’t having a good time at a Fatboy slim show, you need to check your pulse as you may be dead. Hopefully I will get a chance to see him again in 23/24.
Man, Fatboy Slim... Him and Swedish Egil were the reasons I got into djing back in the mid 90's. He is right, djing back then was a hobby and I couldn't see myself making a living of it (not like engineering has done for me). There are times when I miss being behind the decks at clubs making people dance and feel great, though....
Do you know what he may well not be the best technical DJ of that period or the most underground but he did create a bit of a movement based on his music and across the board seems a really creative character and I think it's obvious he cared/cares about what he does. Respect.
As much as I like his music from the 90s, his current style just leaves me completely cold. And some masterclass... you will learn more about production from videos on TH-cam that show rebuilds of some of his old tracks in Ableton Live.
I grew up listening to FatboySLim even though there are so many different types of DJ's around today, we need to sit back and remember the first guys. the ones who really started DJ'ing, Like Fatboy he is like one of the earliest pioneers, lets not forget other beggning DJ'ers "Avalanches" "Chemical Brothers" "basement Jaxx" the band of the 90's! even if you can call them a band, most of them were just a two man crew!
''Produce looks simple, and now i wan't to produce'' Hell yeah girl.. :)) It's not producing if you just re-editing track, Producing is about building idea, making synths, making right melody, groove, bassline, and its isn't easy to make unique stuff. Because there's a lot of similar stuff out there these days. Right?
The masterclass took place during burn residency bootcamp in Ibiza, especially for this years finalists. You are going to have to wait til next now...and register for spot in the 2014 program. More on that to come!
Could you please specify the exact name of the closing track ('Bounce')? I am going to buy it. I have searched youtube, discogs, beatport and traxsource for Luxury - 'Bounce', they do not know such. Luxury, is it the label name? Thanks a lot!
I remember playing at The Custard Factory and everyone singing along to the tune id dropped. The connection was magic. I was elated, i literally felt like god! What a night. Good times
And Some Of Mr Cooks Dj's Style Comes From His Northen Soul Roots And Records And Its A Bit Like The Early 90'S Too Were The Dj's Did This Think Called Cut And Past Just Playing The Best Part Of The Song On Vinyl "YES" Vinyl You Heard Right lol, Doing Stuff In 8th And 16th's Blocks In Live Is Like The Old Days With The Atari St And Cubase Set Up. And This Is From A Old Skool Raver 88-93 ! Peace
Hi there, these have been made especially for the webisodes and won't be released. But check out burn Records for other tracks from our 2013 contestants.
+TheRdungeon In his past studio set up. I have an issue of Future Music magazine in the late 90s or early 2000s that he use C-Lab Creator in his studio before he switch to Ableton Live.
I like Fatboyslim and think he's a great producer but making all the tracks he plays out 128bpm :/ I'm sure someone is spinning in their grave and not at 128bpm.
DG TV changing bpm in production probably sounds cleaner than live on a cdj. also, fatboy's kind if old school and likeky doesnt think about the sync functionality or what it can do much. it essentially is more or less the same thing
Hi! Which one is the intro song? By the way quite strange him saying that you need to be more drunk that the audience, if Im not wrong he was in a rehab because the alcohol. Try to don´t mix the music with the alcohol. Even it happens, let´s don´t promote that. The music is a good "shit" as a drug! :)
I'm slightly younger than Norman and could never grasp why he was considered a 'musician' when he only played other people's music? Don't get me wrong I love him, but a musician?
He was bass player with UK number 1 act the Housemartins so a musician? - yes He was also in the band freakpower so a musician? - yes He produced music under various names in the dance music scene: mighty dub kats, pizzaman, Brighton port authority, Beats international and many others. So a musician - yes Do some research before posting your ignorance for the whole world to see forever...
Nobody that awful fortunately in the Divisions/Faculties I taught in in FE. I say that sure that he is taking someone off, not to be rude. I hope i didnt come across like that.
Fatboy slim probably was like "How much shit do I need to talk till this fucking ableton live opens" xD
Probely a cracked version and it froze lol.
He seems quite down to earth plus his music is amazing!
I met him at Coachella in the early 2000s and he is EXTREMELY nice!! Funny and a beast on the decks!

100%.
@@MrBonesizm they will never know the feel of the needle being dragged back and forth over the bass groove to sync up the baseline on a track

I grew up on his music 🥰

Norman is like one quarter boomer, three quarter the coolest man ever
He's the kind of geezer you could throw skittles at, and get away with it.

Top GEEEZA
very cool dude
There's not now, but maybe somewhere future down the line.
"20% drunker than the rest of the crowd" - funny comment from a man that hasn't drank for 20 years!
Fatboy Slim needs a new MacBook. The amount of time it takes to launch Ableton…
dose anyone know what softwere he was using
+BREAD_man ableton live
+TheRdungeon He was using C-Lab Creator on the Atari computer (right now Apple Logic).
? not in this video, it's clearly ableton
+TheRdungeon In his past studio set up. I have an issue of Future Music magazine in the late 90s or early 2000s that he use C-Lab Creator in his studio before he switch to Ableton Live.
He also used Reason
I like Fatboyslim and think he's a great producer but making all the tracks he plays out 128bpm :/ I'm sure someone is spinning in their grave and not at 128bpm.
He may aswell just use 'sync' if hes just wanting to get other stuff done instead, at least the temp will change a bit..
DG TV changing bpm in production probably sounds cleaner than live on a cdj. also, fatboy's kind if old school and likeky doesnt think about the sync functionality or what it can do much. it essentially is more or less the same thing

Lander AA ever heard of humor?
Fat Boy Slim Es el Amo
The builder is Scania
He dropped nuggets towards the end. I was wondering how he programmed his sets now that he has access to computers and modern stuff.
Programed sets suck. Freestyle that shit learn to work the crowd. Preprogrammed sets are for fake ass djs.
Music credits in the video description.
I like the David Guetta masterclass more
did he just mention David Guetta as one of the best Djs ?
all i see are loops
technikum mechanizacji muzyki fuck oneeeee
It's out, you can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/3fwCxWvH8RU/w-d-xo.html ENJOY!
....🥀
Hes nearly as good as me 😃
Sorry, but this was whipped up by the man himself exclusively for the masterclass.
20% drunker or higher than the crowd??? 🤔 No comment...
看这个的都是DJ么
must be a easy payday for stars that do this sort of thing
best DJ ever!! no underground without her.
Apparently any where from 25K - 125K GBP per set & rumour has it his shows are pre-recorded!
quite stupid answers
