I always feel like ‘behind the scenes’ footage ruins the film… but this is just so not the case with LOTR. The footage makes me love and appreciate the films even more!
The LOTR movies are amazing and seeing this behind the scenes video makes me appreciate the movies even more than before, just because you can see that the cast and crew really put there entire heart and soul in to making the movies
there's this footage and a ton more on the special edition dvd's that's not on the other release. Get the limited edition, dual disc versions, the second disc for each film has all this extra footage.
@@kawaiku As they're dual discs you get the theatrical/extended on one two sided disc. Most of the footage on each disc is now widely available on youtube now.. But owning the limited edition is a good addition to a collection.
I’m glad we finally get a really look at weta and behind the scenes of the real people that got this film to be what it turned out to be. Even the guy not wanting people to work an extra day….. maybe that’s because they would need to be paid overtime…. And the manager didn’t want the workers to get paid for overtime because it didn’t work into the budget. That’s my guess, but it’s great to see all of this new footage
I've been involved in production for 30+ years. Almost NO ONE I've met has ever understood even a MINOR fraction of what it takes to put together a production from A to Z, zero to hero. They just... don't. And most do not even *want* to know. I suppose it's true that it would ruin the MAGIC, yes? ;) For some, perhaps. But for me, it's just part and parcel of what it takes to get something DONE.

@@KellerCRD Im pretty sure he's talking about the new show called The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, it's on Amazon Prime and takes place before the LOTR and HOBBIT movies it's also apparently the most expensive show ever made. I've yet to see the show but it seems to have very mixed revies
@Sandrineworld it looks "bad" because it was made cheaply, and money invested in the film instead. It's really just a series of photographs stitched together. I personally find it interesting that it's so raw and unedited. There are insights that might have been cut out of a more heavily produced doc.

Films like this only come like once a generation. Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc. Masterpieces that become part of culture.
