That better not be a thing that can happen in the game...
The game has an optional setting where dogs can't permanently die.
Don't worry, everytime you kill a dog just remember the whole game is a nightmare. That might help.
It's getting average reviews. I'd wait for a sale.

The voice sounds like Chloe from Life is Strange. UPDATE: I just found out it is, her name is Ashly Burch.

I think you’d really enjoy The Long Dark. It technically is placed in Canada, but it’s such a good survival game with a very interesting storyline

Everyone's just worried about the dogs, and I'm sitting here also like, "No, don't shoot the poor moose!" This is not the game for me.
Same. It baffles me people do this in real life just for fun. I get if you're doing it to survive or if it's a part of your culture but I can't even do it in an indie game-
I would spare it if I could but I think it's a great game nonetheless!
@@oliviail Same. It's so ridiculous, 'Live wildly!' when they have a freaking shotgun. The only thing that'd redeem it for me is if the main character loses the trappings of civilisation, then gets eaten by wolves, and the dogs are accepted into the pack, Call of the Wild style.
YUP, I was like, "Ooh, this game looks- Oh. no. NO. DON'T KILL THE MOOSE." I cannot play it.

I love these kinds of games so much. I get so attached to the characters when the game tells a good story. I love a story I can get lost in. Games similar to this are like an experience almost.

I’ve been waiting soooooo long for this. Excited it’s finally here. This has to be one of my favorite kind of games. Survival with a story and foraging and stuff. I love the flame in the flood too

I started watching this and was so excited when I saw dogs, then the entire feel started turning dark, and the team got smaller, and now I know if I play this game, I'm going to cry. This game will break me.

Here we are. A game released in late 2020 that still looks like it runs on the Wii.
Reminds me of The Call of the Wild book. Its a great story. Definitely gonna play this one.

The style is similar, although Long Dark is a lot more survival based. While you can go about doing anything in the long dark, in the red lantern every of your decisions counts
