fyi:
AWD literally makes cars faster. It just has faster acceleration. As in it cuts roughly half a second from a half mile when you swap from RWD to AWD. Some cars dont take the swap well and will oversteer slightly when braking and turning at the same time. Faster for races that heavily require braking, such as season or circuit.
RWD should have better handling, but in the game this is not the case, if there is any handling changes it is very marginal. However RWD swap from AWD does make cars up to a second per lap faster on oval, due to it having more speed retention on turns than AWD for whatever reason. This speed retention effect makes up for the weaker acceleration for RWD and does make a very big difference for Oval races. Drift cars should also be RWD normally, even though it is possible to drift with AWD. The drift track is far too small for accurate AWD drifting, since it does require more speed. RWD should be faster for high speed races that require little or no braking but still need turning, such as highway or oval.
FWD is just L. Some cars don't even move when swapped with FWD.
Given any car, an AWD version should always be faster than its RWD in drag.
These are my tested observations with at least 10 cars of every class. There may be exceptions.
- Drivetrain does not affect top speed, if it does it is less than a 1 mph difference.
- The car info window cannot display original drivetrain, it only displays current drivetrain.

AWD is actually better than RWD in the Le Mans and circuit race. Trust me its cuz of CDT physics. Man with RWD even if I turn and brake at the right time it still goes straight at high speeds, meanwhile AWD is very grippy and good for cornering
