it could be a big risk if the brakes are not bleed. The codes can be reset by shorting the terminals in the obd port.. but since it requires electronic bleeding just invest in a scan tool that can do that. Autel MaxiAP is just $70 in Amazon.

I have the exact same issue. If I don't change the abs unit, will it be a major issue? How many miles can I drive with a faulty abs unit? My mechanical brakes work just fine.

you will only have brakes at the front, no rears and it will be a safety issue. The lights in the dash will be annoying to while driving.

What scan tool app do you use? I had trouble finding a scan tool that would run the abs pump. I replaced mine with a ebay abs pump and now it's having the issue again. I want to replace it and bleed the system correctly, but I'm lost on what scan tool to rent.

      I use this... www.amazon.com/Autel-AP200-Bluetooth-Professional-Automotive/dp/B07QD4GZW4/ref=sr_1_4?crid=473EY57KEUGM&keywords=autel+maxiap+ap200&qid=1677457983&sprefix=autel+maxiap%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-4

@HighMiles Garage thank you very much for the quick reply. I've had trouble distinguishing which obs tools will run the pump. Much appreciated.

@@MHsearchingTruth just follow the instruction on the tool when you do the ABS bleeding.
It's normally the rear that needs it, the front is just conventional bleeding
