I have a network of 10 of these Echo Shows (5, 8, & 10) to keep tabs on my wife who has lived with TBI-induced dementia for 27 years. My dad is 93 so we put a 10 in his assisted living home and an 8 in my brother’s house, too. In order to permit outside family members (“Contacts”) to drop in on my wife, I set her up with her own Amazon account so there’s no confusion in dropping in on me. That also permits both of us to play music, since Amazon permits music to play on only one device at a time unless they are paired in groups and playing the same thing. In her dementia, she thinks the Show is a clock radio and is always amused by my dropping in. However, she has learned how to set reminders and how to choose her own music. I can't express strongly enough how important these are for any home with a cognitively impaired person.
I watched your video at low volume, but my show 8 always heard her name so she told a joke and now I'm listening to classical music! Guess I should use the mute button.
