The original movies are more whacky than scary, but they rebooted the franchise in 2013 and the reboot is SCARY. This and the 2013 one are not interconnected so you can watch them in either order, but I would suggest the 2013 one first so you can imagine waiting 10 years for the next one to drop. 😮
