Canadian Gold Prospector thanks! I'm excited to test out the new matting. on the a-51 I went with UR - razorback - downdraft - razorback - bedrock. on the small sluice for the bazooka I put razorback - downdraft - bedrock. really itching to get out, been a month since I've been out. I think that's a new record for me since I picked up this hobby. just about caught up at work and should be able to free up some time. what configuration of mats do you run on your highbanker. building one this winter, yours kicks ass.
In my upper sluice box (12" wide...use to be 17") I use (starting from the top)..UR.UR.UR SCRUBBER. RAZOR BACK. UR. SCRUBBER. RAZOR BACK. UR. UR....in sluice extension (10" wide) UR. UR. SCRUBBER. DOWNDRAFT. SCRUBBER. UR. SCRUBBER. UR each piece is 6" long. ..giving me 9' of sluice
Thanks for another good video. I enjoyed it. My thoughts on the classifying. In the 3 years I've been working up there, all the gold I got out of there has been the same size that you have. Over the years, I found that if you classify through a 1/4" screen, 1/3rd of a 5 gallon bucket is the -4 mesh material and I have never found any gold that that size here. So if you classify to minus 8 then that 1/3rd is much more useable material for the same energy expended. I use a screening bucket I made that is 12 mesh that increases the useable material for that same amount of energy to about 85 - 90% and still leaves a little room for the "Utah Nuggets". Plus the -4 material isn't taking up valuable space in your sluice.
you were serious about not worried about hiking in.please check your email next week and i will send you a couple locations to look at.4 -5 miles in rubber boots your a hiker for sure.thanks for sharing
Nice color. Giving me the fever. Can't wait until hunting season is over and I can hit a creek. Keep digging.
indyme2
what are you hunting for? good luck and be safe out there.
looking forward to seeing the nice chunky gold you guys find out that way.
Not hunting myself. Just don't want to get shot. Someone around here gets killed every year during deer season. Gold coming up, I hope. Lol.
indyme2
yeah I definitely worry about that during deer and elk season. I try and make sure I have some orange on.
Great Video... I think Gold Hog matting rocks!! Keep the videos coming
