Please note that CVT transmission is only avaliable with the 4 cylinder engine and it is non-repairable. The V6 engine has a 6 speed automatic transmission that can be repaired.

I currently have a 2010 Outlander 3.0 V6 LS with the 4WD/4WD Lock system, automatic transmission with manual mode and haven’t had any issues until recently. Over 160,000km later, it’s only now the rear shocks needing some work done and the rear diff is slowly leaking, but other than that, the car has been great and fun to drive when u wanna rip it here and there.
Only other thing I remember in terms of repairs or replacements was the catalytic converter being corroded and needed replacing. Got a nicer cat and the car sounds nicer and louder, especially on a cold start.
Car is first owner and has been well taken care of and has been very reliable.

I am a fan of this, second-generation Mitsubishi Outlander with the 3 L V6 engine, because they are very reliable.

I bought a used 2011 2.4L 4 cylinder model back in 2015 with 77k on it and after 25 days of owning it, it wouldn’t start at all. Towed it back to the hour away dealership (thank goodness for my AAA membership) and they told me the computer brain of the transmission was frozen so I had to get the entire transmission replaced. It would have cost me over 4k but cost me nothing because I had asked for a 3yr warranty at the time of the loan write up (which also gave me room to negotiate a lower interest rate). It had more miles on it than I was hoping which was why I trusted my gut about getting the warranty. So glad I did that!
2023, 202.5k miles later and only minor problems later, she has been a good SUV with great gas mileage for me and the family. Hope our “Elsa, the Blue Ice Queen”, as we named her, lasts until she becomes a first car for my oldest daughter 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

We have a 2011 Outlander 4-cylinder with about 130K miles on it. So far it's been pretty reliable, though the A/C compressor and expansion valve went out on us recently. Everything else has been good (thankfully). We replace the CVT fluid at the dealer every 30,000 miles. Anyone with a CVT needs that fluid replacement frequency to prolong longevity of the transmission.

Having owned the 4 cyl version I can say that I never had issues until the transmission just didn't want to do anything . Even with preventitive maintenance it's just garbage , engine was bulletproof though

Have the 2011 4n14 motor 2.3 mitsibishi own motor diesel , engine is rock solid but struggling with the dpf , so gonna remove it now upcoming weeks , had some minor fixes like a feather in front broke , changed all brakes , and gonna do the exhaust now when I take the dpf off , overall a great car 👌👍

They also tend to have the bearings stuck when trying to remove them for maintenance
    Can get expensive

fyi the v6 3.0L outlanders are automatic transmissions only the the 4 cylinders are CVT and the worst CVT at that the Nissan CVT that failed A LOT

Filling for their video neither the I4 or v6 have cvt transmissions and the control arms are not common problem they are wear and tear items

    • @relaxitsonlyagame
      @relaxitsonlyagame ปีที่แล้ว +9

Only the 4 cyl engine came with CVT.
I’ve had both variants. No issues with either one but I wanted a bit more power for highway driving so we upgraded to the V6 and it has been bulletproof for over 10 years. Minor maintenance required aside from the timing belt needing replacement.

And where is some information about 2.2/2.3 diesel problem with oil pump - engine balance shafts (DID MIVEC) and oil pressure what could cause serious problems...?

Most cars nowadays look expensive, even old econoboxes like corolla, civic, elantra, jetta... look way more expensive than budget options of the past.
But this Mitsubishi has a cheap look to it. It's not exactly an ugly car... but once they made the last gen evo, they over did it with making all their cars look like it.
