In fairness to the rest of them, Mako's team is really stacked. Not only do they have the most experience performing (Mako is from JYP, Rio from XPG, and Maya from YGJ), but they have probably all the best dancers in the group. And Mako is an Ace by herself. Ayaka is like a sponge. By herself, her skills are really weak, but when teamed with dynamoes like Miihi and Rima, she can rise to the occassion. Speaking of Rima, her rap skills here are front and center. She's definitely rapper material. The Seaside Fairies were not bad. Mayuka was adorable, and Nina delivered those high notes. They just got matched to a stronger team, though I'm certain they're still relieved they wont't have to dance battle Mako's team.
Both good performances but for me Sunrise was easily my favorite and one of my favorites of the show. I may be a bit biased tho as each member of team Sunrise are some of my top favorites in this show. Miihi seems to put a lot of pressure on herself to be the best and it's starting to take its toll. I'm looking forward to your reaction to mighty Mako's most excellent team tomorrow. :)
The sitting girls commented how cute Mayuka was ("like a French doll"), and you commented liking her hair buns. 👍 It was around this time in the series that I also started favoring her. It's due in part to her looks, after seeing more closeups & emotions. And it's also partly due to my rooting for underdogs as they rise. 💃🏻
Now i’m rewatching this and I saw Jihyo’s presence in Akari’s face a bit. Also just noticed they fixed their vocals big time. I could hear the difference after rima, Miihi and Ayaka’s finished her song. They didn’t edit it during JYP’s reaction. Interestingggg
Pierre, I can see your excitement for NiziU is growing! My least favorite Twice song is DTNA but NiziU has made it their song unofficially by performing as whole group in practice room right after forming NiziU then two years later fully covering vocals too for KCON Korea 2022. Very Very Very by IOI is great but Sun Rise did it better! The audience for KCON Japan 2022 was the loudest when NiziU was full covering Nayeon's Pop!
Team Sun Rise vs. Team Seaside Fairies, what a battle, I thought both did well, but I have to side with you and JYP on this one Miihi, Rima, and Ayaka were slightly better, but not by much. Rima I think has an extra lung, because she did the rap that I believe 2 or 3 people do originally, all by herself and her vocal were very good as well. Then you have Miihi, she just a great all around performer, and her vocals are really great. Ayaka really raise her game for this one and she did very well, and has made a big improvement from her last performance. Nina made some improvement on her dancing, and her vocals were spot on, as usual. Mayuka looked very cute and did a nice job as well. Akari and Riria both improved a bunch as well, they both danced very well and their vocals were very good.
