Currently going through The Name of the Wind, and when Kvothe plays - I put these songs on as I read. The emotion fits. Some music is an outlet for anger or excitement, but this sounds like an outpouring of longing and wistfulness and it's beautiful.
Well damn, this instantly goes into my top tracks of the decade. It was deep, tumultuous and inspiring, truly epic. Thanks for sharing the chaos with us!
wow dude this is really excellent. your music and videos continue to make me feel alive, the raw emotion the skill the videography and your explanations of these creations. considering contacting for lessons I'll be honest bc leap of faith is still sheet music on my stand and I need to address that.
My god man from 4:14 on you stopped playing notes and started just moving through waves. Absolutely awe inspiring. I know it’s a lot of reverb but to me it felt like you were listening to the voices and once you heard it just amplified it into a full on symphony. Every time i pick up a guitar and play i don’t listen for the notes i listen for the ringing out of frequencies in harmony. You fully captured that and moved through it with grace and mindfulness to where it needed to go. In summary fucking fantastic
Russell tells a story of joy and wonder with every piece, I absolutely love the steady stream of whispering 16ths, special attention to drawing out the melody melody in the composition. Massively inspiring as always!!!
What a deep composition. His compositions bring a sensitivity and expressiveness that is very pleasant to hear that makes you want to repeat. Love to see when you do these degrees of difficulty in 3:23 of the voices being added one by one. When the catchphrases appear they get to be mesmerizing. Wonderful composition.
This guy is still hands down best artist coming out of candyrat these days. No disrespect to the other skilled players but RD is on another level with his technicality and overall composition. This is gorgeous. Good job RD 👏
Incredible work. The reverb really was a nice addition; sounded immense and really let the dynamics drift. Also totally looked at the video description about three times because the song had me convinced there were multiple tracks running. 😆
absolutely incredible, is it possible by any chance to add a tuto or a tab on ur website and then buy it if u want ? i would be so thanksful to learn it
Beautiful piece! I was wondering, do you play both the low E and D strings with the thumb pick? I bought your tabs and wasn't sure how to go about playing those strings. Much love! Thanks!
Good question! It's alternating: thumb index thumb middle thumb index (p i p m p i). Almost the whole song is like that, with the melody being played with the ring finger.
Seems to exploit the bass definition that is usually found on Martins. In case anyone was wondering, this type of repetitive single note fingerpick is exceedingly difficult to master, which he effortlessly displays. Ask Ewan.
I'm no guitarist and no doubt you're amazing, but the reverb was overkill. This could a be beautiful without a little less echo in my opinion. Either way, good job my guy. Don't let my difference in taste bring you down, you're amazing
I actually think the reverb contributes positively. The reverb brings a feeling of space and its echo is a part of the song. In my opinion, the same song without the reverb would be less impactful and so less unique, more common (even if the partition is really something). Moreover the use of reverb is not really common in accoustic songs so it's also a part of originality!
Thanks for watching! Link to tabs and the new EP in the description 🔥Join me here this Sunday for a Candyrat Livestream!

Loving Chaos...if all chaos was like this, i would want one a day..
The trick is finding the chaos beautiful, I suppose! Or.. imposing some kind of order on it...
My brain lights up when I listen to this
Very cool!

Sweet, glad you dig it!
Reminds me of Opeth at some points. Beautiful piece. When you strike those natural harmonics they come alive with that reverb. Great job.

Glad those came through! I love adding the voices one by one like that.
Brilliant and deep... Many thanks, Maestro King!

Am I hearing that through a soundtone amp?
It's actually a studio recording, so no soundtone. I would love one of those !
What tuning is that Mr. King?🤔
It's actually just Drop D! Link to the tab in the video description!
Nasheee
👏👊👊💯
R.D. King sounds like M.H. Legend
First comment and first like.
First complement too. This was awesome!

He throws the minor pentatonic to the queen
Looks like Madagascar Rosewood.
