I put some combat music on the abyss sections of the video specifically, lmk if I got the balance right. If you had told me 3 months ago (before the 4.3 beta) that Polearms Only was going to get a four star character this good for the account, I never would've believed you. But here we are. Raiden has genuinely gone from "no reason to use her on a traditional build" with Chevreuse existing on Polearms Only, to "very good reasons to use her on a traditional build" now lol (though I still prefer Hybrid). And Chevvy enables Cyno to be usable, and makes a potentially stronger Hu Tao team. Which is crazy for one unit to enable for Polearms Only. Also, fwiw, I tested Chev C0 a bunch on my main account after recording this, and I really like her at C0 too. Good enough to replace your XQ/Kazuha/etc and make Overload teams that really were not a thing before. She is just more fun with C4 on my damage build, and C6 obviously makes her meaningfully stronger and useful outside of Overload, but I think it is awesome we got a good C0 four star without needing constellations for their kit to feel functional. Chevreuse is genuinely one of my favorite characters they've ever release.
That's great to hear. I'm really thinking of fishing for her... gonna wait until the livestream just in case, but if Itto isn't on next patch, I"m gonna risk it. Though I admit I'm also hoping they'll give her for free in 4.6, haha. Anyway, very excited to see a new addition to this account and hope we'll get to see her put to good use in future abyss runs. Since this one is so easy, I guess there won't be a dedicated video/livestream about it?

I noticed a couple of times that you might have used the tap version of Chevreuse's skill. You _do not_ get her ATK buff if you do not hold it. That probably contributed to your Cyno feeling underwhelming.
I did that a bunch of times by accident when I first played around with her various teams. Luckily her hold skill is fun to use, which makes remembering it that much easier. Something else of note is that you need to already have procced an overload by the time you use the skill, or you will also lose out on the ATK buff ircc. That imposes a few requirements on rotations. I liked using her burst to proc the overload, than firing the skill, but that rotation would break if I ever start an abyss chamber without my burst up.
Ah interesting, ty for the info. Thats kind of clunky. Normally they avoid doing things like that, but its not too problematic. I doubt Cyno wouldve felt particularly different with just a little more atk% though Edit: And keep in mind that the bigger issue I had is likely more down to energy and rotation issues (from Cynos burst duration). Ultimately, especially in the context of me having C2 Cyno, he felt much much worse than C0 Raiden did on the same team (on either of her builds). The 23% attack was not the difference maker there for how Cyno vs Raiden FEELS to play. I will be trying to optimize my use of Cyno more though, as I do still have potential reason to use him over Raiden if Raiden is needed elsewhere. This video was just my first tests of Chevreuse teams on the account.

A few things to note with Chevreuse: You MUST have the overload bullet to get the attack buff AND Hold shot, not tap. It lasts for 30s so it's 100 percent worth doing it this way. Also, if you have C4, you definitely want to have one of your characters apply pyro first, and then electro to get an overload to activate Chev's buffs and resist shred, THEN use Chev's ult, THEN use the Hold attacks. Not only do you do A LOT of damage by doing this, you get a lot of value from her buffs. Remember with C6 Bennett, you can apply pyro super easy.
Can't you try to use Thoma burst last so you have some pyro by the end of Cyno burst? Thoma's Burst duration is 15s, while Cyno's is 18s. Chevreuse's res shred also has a 6s duration after the last overload, so probably you'd have it all the time. So the rotation could be: - Cyno E (to apply Electro) - Chevy QE (with extra E if you want, her Q would Overload so she would have the Overcharged Ball for her first Skill, I think), - Xiangling EQ, - Thoma EQ, - Cyno Q then just keep hitting. Probably you'd have all the buffs for the whole duration, and at most you'd not have Xiangling along Cyno, but I think it's fine, I don't think it'd be a DPS loss.
Have you tried looking for an er calculator? I think there are some put there and they might help a lot for figuring out what kind of er needs you’re looking at. If you want I can try to find one! Edit: the one the people I know use doesn’t seem to have Chevreuse yet oof
I’m not going to recommend pulling for a four star especially if you have a bunch of pity, but having tested C0 Chev with Yae on my main account I actually really really like Yae teams with Chev too. I tried both Yae/Fish/Chev/XL and Yae/Fish/Chev/Bennett
so, idk if this applies to other teams but the best combo with Raiden is 3NA1C ~3x then the 4th one is 2NA1C cuz her burst will expire. spamming CAs wastes a decent amount of total dmg and makes you have 0 stamina really fast.
I’m mostly spamming CAs to get more electro application, which is more overloads or aggravate/electrocharged damage, plus her AoE on her CA is very big (most NA combos are recommended from a baseline single target perspective). You are correct in that managing stamina can be important, but in the context of maximizing reactions I think her ideal combo does change a bit. It might still be better to do N2C vs N1C, but generally speaking I just do what feels good to me and don’t stress on optimal NA combos unless I NEED to optimize or make the team perform around certain combos.
Chevy almost feels like as much of a key support as Bennett or Kazuha in my eyes. I know she's team-locked, but the fact that she pulls certain characters ahead by so much is insane. Also, because I got Raiden mainly due to her Archon status rather than out of need, I've tested some teams on my account with her. I was wondering something, since you built hybrid Raiden on both of your accounts I think. Have you tried a chaos team, but with Raiden? It's basically where you have her, Thoma (or any off-field burgeon trigger), off-field hydro, and off-field dendro. This is mainly used for Cyno or Razor, but I've recently tested it on my account with Raiden and it was kinda funny.
So far I agree, Chev being this good in her niche is really cool, particularly in her ability to potentially free up other powerful units like Bennett/Kazuha/etc for other teams. I have tried Raiden teams like that, that is basically what I have played the most for Hybrid Raiden with C6 Bennett (the "off field" burgeon trigger is just the fact that raidens NAs can trigger them)

Actually I like hybrid even more with her C3 active right now (but I need to use it in more Abyss cycles to truly know what I prefer), as there ceases to really be a reason to HAVE to spec into her burst dmg more relative to the value gained from overload dmg from off field especially, due to her burst dmg being plenty high enough already. As in it puts less onus on tight rotations wanting to use Raidens burst at highly specific times to keep damage going and therefore more flexibility. It’s cool seeing the big number and all, and may be better for speedrunning, but not necessarily for consistency and feel of the team. Oh, and a big upside is that the hybrid build is universal. No need to change artifacts around

in the cyno team could you replace thoma with raiden for battery (as cyno and xiangling are v v energy hungry) and a support? if u did u could swap out of cyno’s bursts early and still have enough energy to re do another rotation also to help with cyno rotations u can do a skill before his burst as it resets his skill cooldown and u can skill straight away in his burst as the eye wont proc before the cooldown ends
Is it better to spam Skill and purposely skip hitting the skill inside the endseer state? I'm not familiar enough with Cyno to know if in an overload comp it helps to hit the skill in the window, just noticed you don't and wondered the reasoning.
i spent around 4500 resin on navias artifacts and its rough. i got everything needed now like 65% CR and 215% CD. So i wish u luck inside emblem domain
Yeah, at C0 building her full HP is a good option but with C4+ she have very good sub-dps potential, though in some team she still better to build for full HP.
No need to delete it. This a polearm only account. This means for Chevy to do her things, you are limited even further in terms of the characters. There are 0 electro healers that are polearm. There are 0 electro shielders. So, for this account, most likely, building Chevy for 40k+ hp with HB is the way to go, as then a C6 Chevy can heal the on-fielder about 5k every 2s, while her E's ticks last, with the team-wide at the end.

That cyno team might need more favonious weapons, especially on thoma/chevreuse because they're not dealing much damage anyway
Yes, Chev being on fav may help a bit (Thoma is on Fav, it just doesnt always proc), but I think Id need more ER regardless.
It's nice that we have all these local legends to do damage tests on. It's a nice change from ye olde Masanori or boss fights.

Cyno feels really good with enough er. You don't need to play his full burst duration either. Get enough er to swap him off 3-4 seconds early.
Personally, I dunno if I would describe him as really good, but I think he is interesting to play, especially with 4 piece TF.
