It's a bug that probably became a feature. In the old CoD zombie games you could revive someone and switch to your weapons to defend yourself. The same principle is used here in the video @MsRafachannel

Hey, this is a genuine question have you ever thought about activating the water pressure step earlier to have more zombie spawns? I’m not sure if it would be more optimized for scrap or anything but I just was curious about the idea! Amazing runs btw!
we used to do it earlier but the zombies that spawn from turning the valve dont give you the full amount of points zombies normally would, also you dont get a gun to defend yourself that early

I haven't done it myself, but from what I understand you need to both drop and pick up the canister in very quick succession.
essentially pressing drop (ctrl) and interact at the same time, i find it works more if drop is pressed first, so 55:45 in terms of buttons
