RE: not knowing how to sew - if you can decipher all those crochet patterns from the 1800s to create gorgeous pieces of lacework, you can *absolutely* teach yourself how to sew! You've got this!

Oh, this is going to be fun, isn't it? I get how you are about hurricanes since you were from the "tornado alley", I grew up in Nebraska sandhills. Guess if I had a choice I would opt for hurricanes and you pretty much know in advance to get out of the way. Tornados or earthquakes are .not so much of a proper warning. I used to drive from my home in Houston thru Oklahoma, Kansas and most of Nebraska to get to my folks. That was always my favorite part of the trip. Anyway, now that I live in Pakistan, with my hubby and our son. I'm grateful for everything my parents taught me as it really prepared me for an adventure of a lifetime. There, now you know a bit about me, which is only fair that you are open with us. I am really going to enjoy seeing more of you on this channel. Praying for this new channel to be a success for you. Oh my goodness I just love your bubbly personality so much! So, me and my family have a saying for when you start on one topic and burn through 4 other topics and once and eventually you make it back to the first topic, we call that “ my brain took a side quest” 😂 feel free to use that one. Also, if you want a really good lipstick, my all time FAVORITE is cover girl all day color stay lip stick, let me tell you that stuff would not come off the whole day…I had to use baby oil to get it off! Glad I stumbled upon it! Had to chuckle! Mama used Olay & I have that black capped pink bottle in my medicine cabinet! 😂 Love it! Absorbs & isn't greasy! I hadn't realized you are in Hilary's path too! (no good at geography!) Today was cooler than usual here but calm. Rain should start about 4:00 am Sunday & last until 7:00 am Monday! I can't wait! Love rain! We're supposed to get several inches! Already started raining in the mountains & desert. It looks like winds should only get to about 20 mph. Your weather looks much wilder than mine - stay safe. I could never tolerate makeup on my skin (skin couldn't breathe), lipstick on my lips (it ended up EVERYWHERE) or lotion on my skin. My skin is a little oily, so it works. But I love well done makeup & really enjoy watching the artistry of it being applied. My makeup since age 14 was black mascara on upper lashes & black liner on inside of lower lid, with maybe a touch of shadow once in a blue moon. Repeatedly through my life, I've been told I had beautiful skin. I may have a couple of doilies - I've given many away! Will send you some needle threaders (aka floss threaders) to help thread small needles - you CAN sew your doiley curtains together. I've seen you sew pieces of crochet together, using the grid of the crochet stitches for spacing. Just overlap two doilies & do the same thing. You might want to look into threads thicker/stronger than what is used for clothing. Who's chatty????🥴

I don't actually wear make-up - at all, but I do moisture, as I have very dry, middle-aged skin. only I'm so glad the hurricane wasn't a more serious one for you, I was getting worried when it was blowing there! I had a feeling I had a connection with you. I grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma , so to find out you lived in Oklahoma it makes since. It is funny some of my favorite TH-camrs grew up or lived in Oklahoma, I live in Florida now and I have the same mindset...when they say somethings coming you take it seriously. I must say that after living tornado alley where all of a suden they can form, I am calmer about hurricanes where you can prepare. Glad you are safe. I do love this vlog channel. I use coconut oil to alleviate the dryness. And, hey, I have that same light near your window, LOL! Looking forward to more vlog posts!
From what I read Hurricane Hilary is nasty, heavy flooding. Stay safe. I want to make some doilies too. Christmas Snowflakes. I see the yellowing. Take shelter. You could always lay them onto voile curtains and sew them to that to give them a firm base. I watched a random video a while ago on you tube with a lady from Finland who had made one. You might be able to find it ❤ . So pleased in at the start at vlog number ONE 🎉❤🎉

Watched this yesterday evening. 🤣🤗You and your hubs are adorable. I don’t follow many vlogs (am I using that word correctly?) but I’d watch y’all. Too sweet, and girl! You are funny! Sewing, especially from a pattern, is much easier than the vintage crochet patterns you do already. It’s really more a challenge to remember how to thread a machine and fill a bobbin. Once you get the rhythm of it and understand the basic geometry of getting something from two dimensions into three dimensions it’s really simple. You’ll master the vocabulary and be able to whip up a project in no time. You got this! I commented a while back about inheriting a bunch of doilies and such. I’m going to sort through a box or three and see what might work for you. I literally have multiple boxes. Probably things from four to six generations and most can’t be attributed to anyone specific. All the women in my family did these, except for Great Grandmother Nail, who did very beautiful oil paintings and pastels. Aunt Jean did museum quality porcelain. Everyone else did some form of needle work. I’ve got so many textiles, being the last of the line that currently cares about such things. Those items deserve to be seen and used. You might need to make more curtains. Maybe a shower curtain? How about appliqué on a jacket? This is already too long a comment. I’ve got boxes to sort out and doilies to starch. I went on the Amazon bandwagon during the pandemic, but I too am getting tired of funding Jeff Bezos' rocket and robotic dog pets etc., which is what he is basically using the money for. Certainly not to pay his employees. I found it interesting about makeup types for mature skin. I am just learning about makeup now, never learned how to put it on, and now I am 53 and really need to wear it now!
I was going to tell you about the Green cover stick to help neutralize your redness on your skin....Yellow helps to hide dark under eye circles. Worked with cosmetics for 10 years, so this was fun for me to see you shopping for foundation. I don't know the name of the foundation to hide tattoos, one of my friends who got a job at Hooters needed to hide one on her leg and it did a great job and didn't rub off. I don't weat makeup, just occasionally some matte lipstick. You're right it is very humid here in Oklahoma. It is also very hot right now. You do rabbit trails just like me 😅😂. I used to used the OG Olay! Now I have to use….pumpkin oil & watermelon extract but it’s wet-hot here, No. Ca. 110 in summer but high humidity. Are you a Leo? I am too but a July Leo. I smoke. That’s it. No more partying- haven’t since my 30’s. A rare blood disorder fixed that. But I’m 65. So who wants to see a crazy ol’ lady? Lol I’m sub’ing.
I almost never wear make up so I know next to nothing about it though i do have severely dry skin and bring in a very humid climate in Kentucky you'd think I wouldn't have that many problems but here we are I use CeraVe to moisturize but it is thick and can be a bit greasy it works even for my dry skin though

Oh I tried to find out what everyone else was experiencing with those things, but they just never had any effect on me, so I was not compelled to partake. Appreciate that about yourself, it will keep your body operating more correctly than if you had done those things. I do like your conversation. Oh I live in Louisiana, and hurricanes aren't visible in the sky until they are just on top of you. Just make sure your cars are parked on high ground if you live near a flash flood zone. Hallow your ground to God if you are a Christian, so he can protect you.
Also there’s a St vincent de paul and Salvation Army and also on Hancock ave there’s another small thrift store if you google them. I haven’t been in a few years but I’m fairly sure they are still open.

Removing the cover from existing umbrella, Crystal mentioned seeing them made with doily type thickness thread. Could u pls consider making one? I'm unable to read patterns of any type; due to brain trauma, but I've even sold items. I would love a tutorial, just the thing in the heat❣️
I used to live off Camp Mohave on Caitlan Ave but I am in Kingman now my hubby and I have been staying with my mom since dad passed and I am afraid we may be here permanently, not bad I love being with mom it just sucks not having my own house and all my stash is in a storage unit! It was weird to see you guys drive down the road I used to go down all the time. As far as the hurricane thing we make sure we have enough food but up here there usually just rain from them and it hasn’t been bad so people probably are not taking it seriously. If you ever have to stay at the hotel again just take a microwave to your room. Wow your weather looks worse there than here! Hope you guys stay safe and this was nice to get to know you some. Then I moved to Kingman for a few years while my dad was fighting cancer and in 2015 i moved to Chattanooga to live until my family needed me home in Kingman and I know I will be here for a long time now. I liked to live in different parts of the country and world because of the experiences you can have. Oh I have also lived in Indiana, New York , and South Korea. Life has been fun.

I felt for it, messured my food (German big food) and I like to have a pair of shoes that are not sneakers, so the messurements fit to the list they showed. This shoes are not near the size I need. Sending back would cost me 24 Euros. nob.never again! I like your style. The hat fits you totally well. I have a question: does your fb page stil excist? I can't find it anymore. Congrats to almost 300 subscriber on this channel. You just need to sew in the back of the doylies. Hope you are save and it is just a bit of havy wind.
Ay Corrina. I know this is a bit of a drive but maybe there's other ways but there's second hand stores in Palm Spr n Lucerne valley.. Desert Hot spr... all around there is places sell old celeb stuff. It's not all costly. How about a swap meet where heritage n historical stuff is sold. I used to get stuff at huge church sales. Just tossing ideas u already might have thought of. Strange people used to live around Needles. Also your edginess during the storm reminded me of life in Alabama n S Carolina n texass except at least you can see in Texas n the Panhandle of Oklahoma. The way super cells are.. ya'll didn't get the flooding? Be safe out there. Your desert scenery makes my soul happy it's so gorgeous. Yea I know it's hot n rocky n I love reptiles. You could always lay them onto voile curtains and sew them to that to give them a firm base. I watched a random video a while ago on you tube with a lady from Finland who had made one. You might be able to find it ❤ .

Sewing, especially from a pattern, is much easier than the vintage crochet patterns you do already. It’s really more a challenge to remember how to thread a machine and fill a bobbin. Once you get the rhythm of it and understand the basic geometry of getting something from two dimensions into three dimensions it’s really simple. You’ll master the vocabulary and be able to whip up a project in no time. You got this!
I commented a while back about inheriting a bunch of doilies and such. I’m going to sort through a box or three and see what might work for you. I literally have multiple boxes. Probably things from four to six generations and most can’t be attributed to anyone specific. All the women in my family did these, except for Great Grandmother Nail, who did very beautiful oil paintings and pastels. Aunt Jean did museum quality porcelain. Everyone else did some form of needle work. I’ve got so many textiles, being the last of the line that currently cares about such things. Those items deserve to be seen and used.
You might need to make more curtains. Maybe a shower curtain? How about appliqué on a jacket?

I went on the Amazon bandwagon during the pandemic, but I too am getting tired of funding Jeff Bezos' rocket and robotic dog pets etc., which is what he is basically using the money for. I was going to tell you about the Green cover stick to help neutralize your redness on your skin....Yellow helps to hide dark under eye circles. Worked with cosmetics for 10 years, so this was fun for me to see you shopping for foundation. I don't know the name of the foundation to hide tattoos, one of my friends who got a job at Hooters needed to hide one on her leg and it did a great job and didn't rub off. Dermablend is a high coverage foundation often used to cover birthmarks and tattoos. If I recall correctly it comes in a waterproof formulation.

I almost never wear make up so I know next to nothing about it though i do have severely dry skin and bring in a very humid climate in Kentucky you'd think I wouldn't have that many problems but here we are I use CeraVe to moisturize but it is thick and can be a bit greasy it works even for my dry skin though

Oh I live in Louisiana, and hurricanes aren't visible in the sky until they are just on top of you. Just make sure your cars are parked on high ground if you live near a flash flood zone. Hallow your ground to God if you are a Christian, so he can protect you.
Also there’s a St vincent de paul and Salvation Army and also on Hancock ave there’s another small thrift store if you google them. I haven’t been in a few years but I’m fairly sure they are still open.

Removing the cover from existing umbrella, Crystal mentioned seeing them made with doily type thickness thread. Could u pls consider making one? I'm unable to read patterns of any type; due to brain trauma, but I've even sold items. I would love a tutorial, just the thing in the heat❣️

I used to live off Camp Mohave on Caitlan Ave but I am in Kingman now my hubby and I have been staying with my mom since dad passed and I am afraid we may be here permanently, not bad I love being with mom it just sucks not having my own house and all my stash is in a storage unit! It was weird to see you guys drive down the road I used to go down all the time. As far as the hurricane thing we make sure we have enough food but up here there usually just rain from them and it hasn’t been bad so people probably are not taking it seriously. If you ever have to stay at the hotel again just take a microwave to your room. Wow your weather looks worse there than here! Hope you guys stay safe and this was nice to get to know you some. Then I moved to Kingman for a few years while my dad was fighting cancer and in 2015 i moved to Chattanooga to live until my family needed me home in Kingman and I know I will be here for a long time now. I liked to live in different parts of the country and world because of the experiences you can have. Oh I have also lived in Indiana, New York , and South Korea. Life has been fun.

Ay Corrina. I know this is a bit of a drive but maybe there's other ways but there's second hand stores in Palm Spr n Lucerne valley.. Desert Hot spr... all around there is places sell old celeb stuff. It's not all costly. How about a swap meet where heritage n historical stuff is sold. I used to get stuff at huge church sales. Just tossing ideas u already might have thought of. Strange people used to live around Needles. Also your edginess during the storm reminded me of life in Alabama n S Carolina n texass except at least you can see in Texas n the Panhandle of Oklahoma. The way super cells are.. ya'll didn't get the flooding? Be safe out there. Your desert scenery makes my soul happy it's so gorgeous. Yea I know it's hot n rocky n I love reptiles. Once you become a desert rat well.... many blessings of a nurturing nature.
