Hi! I own such a system and I'm refurbishing it rn to use it in my room (it was once a heilroom in the living but we got a Blu-Ray system there now so I can take it for myself). And I am perplexed at the complexity of the DVD player, made in 2012, tho they did cheap out in some parts of it, like not adding a fan anywhere (because it can get pretty hot), cheap thermal paste, and btw, on the yellow board (the PSU, power source) that white thing isn't thermal paste, it's friggin' industrial silicone. Like: "Just make it keep contact with the aluminium cooler, and don't think about the thermal conductivity, it just gotta stick to it." =))) And the plastic buttons in the front, are simply awful, who came with the idea should quit their job. One of them broke, and it can't be glued because it's literally using the "flexibility" of the plastic to move and press on the motherboard, so I can't glue it to keep it still in there, it would just break again, so now I'm missing the "Power" button But at least I can use a hexagonal key with the "L" form to put inside and press (while having rubber gloves on, I wouldn't like to get electrocuted). Big brain engineers to save like 30$/unit... while it was at least 15 times that amount on retail when launched. And god... would it have hurt to make normal buttons?... EDIT: I'm still looking for the remote. *facepalm*

Nowadays you can get a 7.1 System for 300$ or so, which is remarkable value considering they retailed for 1500. Still sound decent. I got Samsung HT-C6730W which I modified heavily. It sounds incredible!
@@Techscrews I swapped the original surround speakers with ones from HT-X250. They have much better mid frequency response. Also did complete cleaning up of the board and de-dusting to make sure all is operating cool. Frankly nothing else.
@@Techscrews Satellites can be playset near your chair or desk, close to your ears. But you can't place a subwoofer on the desk...that's ridiculous. That subwoofer's like a toy. Completely useless

Dissasemble and see if anything's moving while it shouldn't. If the sound still doesn't stop, then it's busted and you'll have to replace a component which you probably can't find easily anymore.

First look inside subwoofer box, maybe there is some kids toy inside.

then take out speaker and check it, maybe damaged voice coile. Or maybe it have foam surround foam, that is old and dead.
