Very pretty hat Briana! I love all of the color combinations you’ve used. It’s nice to see the granny stitch used in this very creative way. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this tutorial, my beanie came out to be way too big with bunching at the top, so I have added some decrease rounds and now it's perfect. Thank you❤
@@honeykiron7324 yes mine is coming out way too big , I did 72 slip stitches after the brim then did the 3 Db crochet and skip 2 stitches all the way round , but the hat is way too big & going frilly not sitting flat like in the video, did you do a row of single crochet and decreased on that row before you start the granny stitch colourwork ? Or did you dec on the slip stitches row ?
Thank you so much for your generosity of sharing this clear video tutorial. For someone who’s a total beginner, this project , with this pretty and hopefully easy project will encourage me to try more patterns.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. The hats are soooo gorgeous and the color possibilities are endless. I'll definitely be making some of these this fall and winter season. Thank you😊
Just bought the pattern on Etsy and now subscribed! Can't wait to get started on this! Thank you for sharing your talent with us all! Appreciate it so much x
Your video is so clear and calming. This hat is absolutely beautiful! After a long pause in crocheting due to my back operation, I find your pattern and video tutorial rekindling my old passion for crochet. Thank you so much! ❤
I am very new to crochet. I understood your instructions perfectly. Your video is awesome and I could see perfectly. Thank you so very much. Would it be ok to crochet a hat in one color first so I make sure I’m creating stitches correctly? I love your instructions. I’m 81 yrs old, can crochet is a new adventure. I’m a knitter but I need to learn something new. Thank you so much.
Jacque, I, also, am a knitter and new to crochet. I found a purse pattern using granny squares, watched a bunch of videos, and now, I am hooked on granny squares. This hat pattern is adorable! I can’t wait to try it. Just so you know, I’m 73, and this keeps me busy.
@@susanhardesty7668 Thank for adding your thoughts and ideas. I never have to much information. I’m 81, alone and my hands are having a hard time with knitting because I love sock knitting with tiny needles and very fine yarn. I hate arthritis! So crochet here I come. I can’t imagine not working with yarn. I feel productive when I am knitting for NICU, homeless and elderly, etc. I’m sure there are things I can make once I am a bit more proficient and can read a pattern and chart. Something new is challenging but so exciting!! Thanks again for responding to me.
I have seen this in various groups and been so intimidated! This is literally so easy to follow. ❤ I can’t wait to give this a go! Thanks for a great tutorial.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm not new to crochet but can do the creative stitches (stacked sc) so much better with visual. I just fell in love with this pattern. Making mat hing mom and granddaughter hats for Christmas gifts. Thank you again for a fantastic tutorial!!!
This pattern is awesome and really easy to make. Started yesterday and almost done today with the adult size BUT quick note to those who want to make the adult size, get a bit extra of Color A because i got 197 yds( 175 yrs in pattern) and ran out on row 13 🥲🥲🥲 got to get some more yarn to complete the project
I just finished making this and it was such a fun pattern - thank you for sharing! For anyone who has a larger head, like me, I crochet 84 rows of the ribbing and it is a perfect fit - not so tight around the forehead👍. Also, I actually cut the yarn after the 4 row repeats as I did not like the larger piece of yarn it took to carry over. A few more ends to sew in but was worth it❤️
Hi Briana, this hat is so cute. I bought your pattern through Etsy a few days ago. This evening I started and nearly finished the baby size hat for a new granddaughter due this month. I hope to finish it tomorrow😊
Briana, felicitaciones me super encanto este lindo diseño, justo lo que edtoy buscando para hacérselo a mi hija👏👏👏👏👏👏. Muchas gracias por tan excelente explicación 🌻
Thank you so very much for this tutorial 💚..im a beginner and with your guided video im dire ill be able to complete this hat pattern 🙌🏾☺️....i appreciate you and your gift to us💚🦋💚🦋💚🦋💚🦋💚🦋
Just got to your blog yesterday, and have a very reaonable hat completed today! I was so glad to have the video to refer to, because even with the clear written direction, rhis really helped it all make sense. I struggle with the floats across the solid color rounds, but the alternating round turned out so clean i was shocked. I just have a few extra ends to weave until i figure it out 😅. Really nice pattern. Thoroughly enjoyed making it.
Hi! I’m so excited to figure this pattern out! 😊 I used a 4 mm hook and tried the gauge swatch. Mine was 4.5 inches by 4.5 inches for the swatch. When I got to 72 rows I thought it might be a little big since my square wasn’t 4x4. It was the correct height, but the band turned out to be 3 inches less wide than it was supposed to be 😢 what would you suggest?
I’m using 4mm hook and #4 yarn - brim Is only 4” at 72 rows. I’ll need several more rows to reach 19”. How do I adjust the pattern after the brim so it fits ?
@@karenlopez681 hi! As long as you keep the number of “elastic” rows a multiple of 3, you will have no problem. The same thing happened to me, I’m a tight crocheter. You’ll get a smaller granny pattern, thats all
Hi from Norway.. love your work and will be making hats and cardigan with diamond pattern, but I need to know why you turn your work on the hat when it would be mush easier just to continue with a new round/row?
Update: REDUCE HOOK SIZE! I don’t care whether you’re normally spot on or not, reduce both hooks by at least a full mm. This thing is gigantic and unusable. Even at 4mm, it is still too oversized. I’m normally 1 size lower but this is crazy. It’s beautiful. But crazy lol
I’ve made two of these and they’re awesome. Now I’ve moved onto the wheat looking one. As I am crocheting I was thinking…how would this one look if you did just single crochets in the round for several rows at the top like you did on the wheat patterned one. Then when you drawstring it together to close it would have less yarn around the top and close more smoothly.
I found that doing the slip stitch around before starting granny stitches made my hat too tight! I changed to single crochets which seems to have helped. My tension must be a bit tight. I also thought the pattern from Etsy and the steps seem to be different to what’s on TH-cam. Great pattern though!!
Your work and videos are easy to follow and amazing. I have just completed an adult hat, I love it ❤ I don't suppose there is a pattern for matching gloves is there?
Hello, I’m making this right now. I also bought the pattern. On round 1 on the written pattern for granny stitch row it says work in the flo, but on this video it looks like you are working that first row in both stitches. Which is correct?
A lady on the facebook page said she did both loops not front loop , my problem is the brim is perfect for small adult size but if I do 72 slip stitches the granny pattern bit is way too big ! Just trying to reduce now
Crochet videos have a way of melting away stress, with each loop and stitch bringing a sense of calm and comfort. 😊
This is absolutely the cutest pattern.
Amazing teaching. Beautiful setting and so clean. Thank you very grateful

Same with mine ☹️ how and when did you do the decreases?
It is definitely a big hat, the base could have been several rows smaller
