Green Severum Spawning and First Time Eggs Hatching

- Really excited... finally got some wigglers!! This is the first time Ive had these Green Severum Spawn and not have the eggs get eaten. The first time they ate the eggs... or someone in the tank did. This time I left the light in over night. When the eggs hatched I removed the rock and put into a separate tank. It's been two days and all good. I will give an update on the fry in days to come. Check back soon.

Great job..im just getting in hobby...but have 2 green and 2 gold...watching them grow nicely..found lfs...that has red..and red spotted...looking for red shoulder..any good sites
Check out imperial tropics. They have red should but they are small

Awesome video I got 2 green severums by accident...
First 2 fish I bought where jack Dempsey cichlids from petsmart.
Long story short after they grew up a bit I realized they where green sevrums, and boy am I glad I got sold these two beautiful fish instead of the jacks, they do great in a community!

My female gold severum laid eggs for the first time and male fertilized them, both cared eggs for 24 hrs but unfortunatetly they ate them all, do you have any idea is it the matter of the first time and unexperienced parents?
About 20 out of 400 eggs turned white after 24 hrs and the fish are about 4 inches

Did your severum ever swim around funny? Mine quite occasionally seems to swim nose up as some sort of intimidation pose against the other fish, its quite interesting and caused me much concern at first until I had time to study the fish and realize it wasn't a health concern.
My blue colored severum is the one that does it, he doesn't mess around and tail whipping is his go-to.
It's funny to because he acts all big and tough and is the tank boss...but when faced with a more serious new threat he backs down and is a total coward and its actually my 2nd sevrum that usually backs down from blue that is a TOTAL badass and in a weird turn of events becomes the tank boss!

Depends who the tank mates are if they are the bigger fish they will dominate.
Hello, my green Severum just lay eggs, and they all turned white, does that mean it is unfertilized? Do I need to separate the eggs and the parents, will they eat the eggs?
Yes if they turned white they are no good. I always separate
