Agreed. Didn't force an awkward answer or confrontation, didn't flee. Just put the sister in her place, made a joke, kissed Dorothy, and sat down with her son for Applejacks. That's a grown-ass man right there.
It was one of the funniest moments but I had two the line Renee said I love him for the man he almost is😂😂And the we bottom feeders prefer cereal first😂😂😂😂😂😂
First time ever watching this film. Wanted Few Good Men on DVD and this came with it as a double feature. Funny how we stumble upon great movies that way. Tom Cruise never disappoints. From Rain Man to Jerry Mcguire and everything in between.
wow, awkward!! How could she have this conversation while he's still in the house XD But it fits Dorothy's character, she's honest and sincere, sweet and seems still idealistic about love.
There are some but the thing is in real world the Dorothys are seen as not so desirable. People like Jerry always go for the insta influencers or someone with a popular family, old money. It's only when these women are written about in cinema and books that people can see how they actually are.
People make a big deal about how much cereal Jerry poured in Ray's bowl, but I actually like that he poured a lot. I think it was Jerry's own way of spoiling him a little.
Get the DVD of Return to Me and watch the director commentary. She's a supporting actress in the film but she wrote and directed it, and apparently every last member of her extended family is a extra in the film. Her sense of humor and dead-pan delivery are legendary.
Tom Cruise was at his peak with this movie. He was so popular as an A lister that he didn’t worry about still being young enough to play the romantic lead and still young enough his features still looked youthful without trying to look young the way he does in his movies today. I think it is a shame that 59 he should be doing roles about being a father instead of only doing action movies. I hated it when they wheeled Deniro and Pesci to do the Irishman and de-aged them and they moved like old men
Yesss!! This!! Irishman bugged me. The story was compelling. And their facial features cud have passed fir younger but their body constitution n movement was so obviously aged. It sucked.
YES!! Cuba was good, but Tom carried this movie and it was really his best work-- along with Rain Man. He played against type-- and God, he was beautiful here. Should have been recognized for this iconic role.
Because Harvey Weinstein ruled The Academy with an iron fist in the late 90’s and bought the Best Actor Oscar for Geoffrey Rush. He did it again for Gwyneth Paltrow in 1999. GP beating out Cate Blanchett & Meryl Streep - c’mon.
Probably not a good idea to start screaming if you don't want the whole house to hear. Especially if you KNOW that you have paper thin walls. Good job, girlie.
Too bad you can’t take Zellweger’s youth and cuteness back into the Genie bottle, and just make more of these. Back to a time when movies were fun. Amy Smart is another great one.
True factual statement. Surprising tho even tho he just recently had his first billion dollar movie ever after 40 years in the industry and being as popular as he is.
I can’t believe Laurel said men are different people when they are hanging onto the bottom rung ! 😂😂😂😂😂like wth? Then Jerry comes into the kitchen says easy ladies. Laurel says coffee Jerry? No we bottomfeeders prefer cereal first 😂😂😂😂Dorothy looks at Laurel like really? I love the embarrassed laugh Laurel did.
It is a fact When men are on the bottom the women they choose are different from when they become established ✍🏻Are there exceptions yes but Oh So Rare
A well rounded and wise person would say never cling to the idea of someone else's potential when in a position to be with that person. I'm glad it works out for Dorothy though as she is just so perfect.
It's actually much more than that. It's about a man who has a crisis of conscience and who is lost in the greedy and shallow corporate world of postmodernity. Not just that though, its about the need for us as humans to align our thoughts, emotions and actions with the good and the true in order to live fulfilling lives and benefit the ones whom we love. As Dicky Fox states 'the key to this business is personal relations'. Jerry has to grow in the movie and realise that he can't succeed in his business plan without succeeding in life. He overcomplicates things with Dorothy and builds barriers between them which don't need to be there. She is perfect, and her son is wonderful and he is too wrapped up in himself to see it until Rod has his moment under the stadium lights. That's when Jerry develops wholeness in himself and accepts that he needs Dorothy to be truly happy.
The 90s was the acting Tom Cruise with Interview With A Vampire, Magnolia and Jerry Maguire. Now he seems more interested in action movies which are good but not challenging acting wise.
