Taeyeon and Iu wer undoubtedly talented. They know how to dance well and hit the highest note ever. But you can't also doubt their beautiful faces right?
This video didn't meant to make fanwars but to show the fans of each ither how talented these two are.

Yes I'm also a very very big fan of IU but Taeyeon's voice is how do i say this, Bigger, larger and powerful, which is a very very good thing plus she has great control over her voice and excellent techniques. However i would not say she is unbeatable because there is Sunmi, Sohyang and of course AILEE!!!
But i do still prefer IU's voice and her songs even if she has the weakest or average technique among all as everyone says.

@@tysedon yeah i know that too. But what i mean of soulful voice is sweet and calm that can lead you to peace and sleepy wherein taeyeon hasn't. (for me) Their voices can bring us in drama which make us crying without even knowing or unaware. Don't get me wrong, i hope you can get my point here. Am not a fan of taeyeon nor a basher but i like also her voice specially in every OST she sung.
@@celestecalumpiano8251 yeah i know what u mean. But not all soulful voice is the one that is calming only. There's also soulful voice that is strong and still able to make people cry. I dunno how to explain it, but there's an example: Amira Willighagen. Her voice is strong and very soulful. People even said that she has old soul and lots of people cry when hearing her singing, but her voice type is not the calming type that can make people unknowingly sleep peacefully. For me the voice that can make people sleep peacefully is like Jackie Evancho's voice. I cant think of another example now

Taeyeon's voice is one that's most unique and versatile to me. She can sound really crazy , strong and powerful doing belts but can also sound so sad to make you feel sad and feel her delicate emotions. She never fails to convey the right emotions in her music and sound. She is also able to try out many different genres. Rock , pop , EDM , ballad , R&B , Jazz , a bit of a sultry sexy style , Japenese OST , whatever and she fits it so well. She's also pretty unbeatable in the range up to D5. That one part IU belts higher and higher is actually strained.
Taeyeon for me , born to be king of god soshi👑. Of course I have to say they both have different capabilities in each areas , however Taeyeon for me is a more solid and versatile singer who reaches to my heart with her music and even as a person.

Taeyeon's voice is so powerful. IU's voice is soothing and pretty even in high notes. Taeyeon's highnotes are emotionally powerful and pretty. TY's can make people cry in ballads. I still havent cry in IU's ballad so TY win.

Both are good singers, but I think Taeyeons voice color gives her a advantage to sing every genre. Like I said, both are good and incredibly successful, would be dumb to say that one is better.
Shmexy Potato I think that’s just a personal preference, at first it seems like she hasn’t a unique voice for example like Jessica, but I remember her appearance on the variety show “Good Songs” and every time she sung it was like she owned the song, like it was made for her.
But again, it is dumb to compare these things, as long as people like it it’s useless to discuss. It’s the same with people who think that being able to sing high notes make you automatically a good singer...
Shmexy Potato can't relate to you on that. Her voice has a lot of emotions. Talking about high notes , she definitely isn't the best even though she's definitely one of the bests. However her timbre is very attractive and her voice is very versatile. She can sound sexy in songs like I Got Love , sound rock-ish in like I'm Ok , hella sad and hurt in her soul songs like When I Was Young and her ballads Time Laspe (somthing she is widely known for) etc , but also fun and cute in Cover Up and many more. She isn't afraid to try out different genres. She has got endless possibilities and she's going to uncover them one by one. She's only been a soloist for a few years she has so much more to offer.
I don't see how just because she reaches high notes well it means her voice is only able to reach high notes but lack character. For me , her voice has character and is very versatile. It is why people want to watch ger concerts so much. You get to see her in different types of songs and she slays all.

@IDGAF HOE IU is not below average, she is just fine, especially for the music she does it fits very well. Yes, Taeyeon is better technically, but that is because her music is very challenging vocal wise as well - IU's music isn't. They're both great musicians.

Both of them are sopranos. Also age has nothing to do with belting. IU’s voice matured around 14 or 15 because it hasn’t changed since then. and she’s like 30 now.

Both the charts and other artists will prove this, but IU is so much more of an artist and musician than Taeyeon. She has more number 1's than any other female solo artists as well as the most PAKS of any artist. IU also has many more songs copyrighted under her name. Taeyeon is an extremely talented idol, but only that. Please don't let your biases get in the way of facts.
iu is a singer, idol, song writer, philanthropist, actress, artist, musician, etc

Taeyeon is the best vocalist. I don't even see the PURPOSE of this video.
But Taeyeon is hardly to be named an artist. And it's her choice! In one of her interview, Taeyeon said:
" I’m careful about expressing my emotions. I’m not the type to often share my thoughts. I leave the past where it ends, and I don’t write in a diary either.”
That's why she only wrote the lyrics for one song(I). She prefers to focus on what she does best(singing) and let professional SM songwriters to do their job. Her passion is singing. And in terms of artistic direction, she isn't credited as a co-producer. Probably, the biggest thing she had done is the removement of one song of her album.
In contrast, IU has music awards for the best Songwriter/Lyricist and the best Producer. She fully composed 14 songs, co-composed 5, and wrote the lyrics for 54 songs. She is also the Executive Producer of her albums since 2015: Chat-Shire, Palette(album and song of the year), Flower Bookmark and Love Poem.
Most of her songs reflect her thoughts and emotions:

Glasses*: the song is about people who hide their true emotions and thoughts under a lie. IU sings that she prefers to be deceived by this lie than wasting her time to find the truth and after all to be disappointed by this truth. Sometimes it's better to not to see everything.

Heart*: she sings that even after her death, IU's heart will remain alive in this song.

Not to mention that she didn't give up in her dream to be a singer despite everything. Her parents went bankrupt so she and her brother had to live with her Grandmother. Then all three had to move to her Oncle. She got rejected by 20 agencies. She even got scammed by a false agency and lost Grandmother's last money. She had to pretend to be sleeping every time her uncle came from work because he was keeping saying that she had to give up and focus on entering in university. Finally Loen Entertainment took her and she debuted 8 months after. During her first stage performance in a private cable channel, she got booed by fangirls: "get lost", "you pig" (she was chubby at that time. She probably developed bulimia because of this kind of comments). Overall, her debut was a total failure and she remained unknown for 2 years. Then Good Day came. The song was topping charts for 5 weeks and made IU the biggest female solo singer with 2 daesangs in addition. But 2 first years of failure made IU understand that Good Day was just a stroke of luck and that she may lose popularity in any moment. She was so afraid to not maintain her level that she couldn't sleep well. But one day, she just realised that she simply has to produce her own music. That way, even if her popularity will disappear, her songs will remain with her. That's how she made a transition from a manufactured puppet to a singer-songwriter and music producer.
@@mikhailt2967 well being a vocalist doesnt always mean to be able to belt strong notes which both are good at especially taeyeon but also whether you can have a connection with your audience which I think iu personally has that spark that does it so I think iu is a better vocalist since her voice is both powerful in term of vocal ability and also in terms of impact on audience
iu has a slightly higher and more respectable account for musicianship but vocal ability? taeyeon definitely. iu isn' really a strong vocalist unlike taeyeon. also just want to say that highnotes does not mean you're a good singer!! a comment misconception is the higher and longer your note, the better. it could be the total opposite. even though taeyeon's highnotes are kinda.. eh it's way way better than IU's especially in her "good day" it was soooo strained. of course I believe more people will pick IU due to her more soft timbre and that's completely fine.
but since the video is vocal ability then definitely Taeyeon. she has way much better technique. IU is a weak vocalist and that's worrying because if she keeps using the same technique she'll end up like Hyolyn and regress and damage her voice.

When IU sings I got sooo much feels I love her soulful delivery. I saw a lot of her performance and what I notice is when she started singing audience went silent no loud screaming, so much taking photos, videos etc. Like a type of performance that will shut your mouth. I really respect this lady. 💜
