Great tutorial on the line element, Ann! I hope your future videos will help us understand the other elements of design. For those of us who never technically studied art, these topics are very interesting and helpful as we develop our own 'style' in our work. Thanks!
What can I say, I just can’t believe your ability to imagine so many wonderful projects. I love all of the pieces, but the first fish and the bees are fantastic!
Wow. I think your fish platters are absolutely amazing. Such detail, beautiful colours, and the swirls remind me of the Ocean Currents. Just fabulous! ❤❤🎉😊
What an interesting and thought provoking tutorial. You have such a unique and inspiring way of approaching pottery as a blank canvas. My mind is buzzing with ideas! 🐝🐝🐝 Thanks Ann! Hope you & Jim weren’t affected by the hurricane in your neck of the woods. 🫶🏼💜
This is sooo creative!! I love that you used the real leaves!! I need to learn so much more about these things. Thanks as always!! The bee platter is amazing!!
That bee platter is absolutely gorgeous! I like your breakdown of lines and I’m hoping you continue this series with videos about the other elements of design.
Ann, another great video, lots to think about, lots of great techniques, who would have thought fish could be so dramatic, tasty but pleasing on the eye x😅😊
Wow, Denise!!! You are so awesome!! Thanks as always for watching and your generosity. Jim and I really appreciate you. And dont forget to watch our future videos as Im sure you are up for a promotion in our Little Street Pottery Research Facility Team. I know Jim will give you a very unique title. Cheers to you! Ann
I can only dream of having a steady hand such as yours. 😢 But age has taken its toll. Nevertheless, there is always something to learn from your videos. You sometimes validate what I wonder about. Thanks!
Hi Lamardon. Hey, I bet Im up there with you. It just takes practice...that and a few tricks like steadying your hand with your pinky finger etc. Give it a try.
Thank you very much you are the best. Your videos are very helpful. I just want to make 3 ceramic or porcelain flower buzzes with some traditional drawing and designs under the glaze. Can you make a video about how to make that easily at home?
When you water attach the hexagon to platter, is platter just naked bisque or do/can you do an underglaze coat/background? Love your stuff, lessons easy to follow and inspirational.
IF you have time, perhaps you may would like to talk about choosing a clay type for a complete beginner who want to go into pottery as an art or even as a career. types of clay with what kind of products you can make with them and selling them to what type of customer base. I am a new subscriber and been watching your vids and learning so much. However I am still not sure the type of clay should I choose. I am looking to make ceramics like coffee mugs tiles plates etc with more emphasis on luxury look classic Chinese blue look. Your way of explaining is remarkable. Thank you very much.
Hi Adnan. That is so nice of you to say. What I would suggest is to start by taking a class near you. When I started I had so many questions that I needed someone there with me to unravel all the pottery questions and pottery terminology and really walk me through the process etc. As far as the kind of clay I started with, my class recommended a stoneware as they were firing to mid and high fire temperatures. Stoneware was less expensive as I messed up a lot and didnt get a lot of pieces out of the high fire. it was a bit easier to work with than finicky clays like porcelains. Now if your class fires to a lower temperature, they will recommend you get an earthenware type of clay. I say find a beginner class as they would give you access to a kiln too. Good luck!! ann
@@annruel1982 The problem is I am not in USA and I am based in Dubai, UAE, and here its cheaper to import than to make ceramics, even though fuel like cylinder gas is cheap here. I love being self employed and create art while still make a living, still however I love this work and when I move to another country perhaps I would have sufficient knowledge to jump start my work into more serious ceramic making. I adore the cobalt blue with more emphasis on luxury looking ceramics. Whenever the change happen in my life, I'd love to equip myself knowledge in areas that I am unsure about, until then I do learn online and play as a hobby. I did researched about the clay type that fire between cone 5 and 6 and glazing. Perhaps I might look for online class or something. However thank you very much for replying to my comment.
