I sat the Goethe A1 exam today and have passed with Luzi and Johannes' expertise. I have been preparing for 2 weeks only. I didn't know where to begin and had no prior German training. Wow! Thank you very much! This is an extremely useful and valuable piece of advise. So the mandatory inventory for the exam is going to be: a highlight marker, a regular pencil, and a ball-pen. And super-useful thing to do is to go over personal dictionary and try to find as many synonyms and antonyms, as I possibly can. I have never participated in an official foreign language test ever before, and I had absolutely no idea on - what to expect, what to do, and which techniques could help me to pass German language certification test. This is very good and helpful video! 👍

The questions were pretty easy and in simple language so with enough practice one can understand them

I have spent the past weeks doing your A1 course and I have learnt an extraordinary amount! My test is tomorrow. How can one expect to hear the audio recordings, do they play the audio on a speaker in the examination room?

This actually depends a bit on the institute where you take the test. Normally there are loud speakers installed in the room somewhere, but I also had students who told me that the examiner used some kind of audio-device with integrated speakers and placed it at his desk. Most likely the audio quality definitely won't be superb 😐. Therefore I it's a good idea to sit close to the audio source/speaker if possible. 🙂👍🙏

Not sure about any website for practicing listening skills. But basically you can use any martial that come along with textbooks. Just choose the level that you are in. The more you listen the better.

No need to be nervous. If you prepared for it and learned your words, the exam won't be that hard. Basically it's just the same what you do in German class. 🙂👍🙏
Whats the difference between telc and Goethe certificate? Are they both accepted everywhere
Not really the same. Although some parts look quite similar, there are still a lot differences. But both are widely accepted. 👍🙂🙏

How do you know which kind of words you should circle
Just imagine it's an exam to test your English. I think you would most likely have an idea or a good guess which words might be important for finding the answer. If you learnt the vocabulary that you need for this German test you can do exactly the same in the German exam.
Important words are often verbs / times / words of negation ... 👍🙂🙏

Ja, der Test sieht anfangs etwas abschreckend aus, aber wenn man nicht unter Zeitdruck steht, ist es eigentlich kein Problem, den Test zu bestehen. Falls deine Freundin/Frau noch keinen Deutschkurs gemacht hat, sollte sie zuerst einen normalen A1 Kurs, um die Grundkenntnisse zu erwerben. Der muss natürlich nicht bei Goethe sein, die Kurse dort sind normalerweise um einiges teurer als andere Sprachschulen und auch nicht unbedingt besser. Sucht einen Kurs, der am besten 3 mal pro Woche stattfindet. Optimal ist es, wenn zwischen den Kurstagen 1 Tag frei ist, damit sie wiederholen kann. Es gibt natürlich auch Intensivkurse, die Montag-Freitag stattfinden. Das ist allerdings nichts für jeden. Da wird das komplette A1 level in ca 2 Monaten durchgezogen... ziemlich anstrengend und viele Kursteilnehmer kommen nach den ersten 2-3 Wochen nicht mehr richtig mit. Diese Kurse passen am besten zu Studenten, die viel Zeit haben und extrem motiviert sind. Ansonsten könnt ihr euch auch mal unseren A1 Videokurs auf unserer Webseite anschauen. Der bereitet zwar nicht gezielt auf den Test vor, bringt ihr Sprachkenntnisse aber auf das Level, das sie für den Test braucht. Die Lerngeschwindigkeit kann man selbst wählen und jedes Thema so oft wiederholen, wie man möchte. Nur das Sprechen müsstest du mit ihr üben. 🙂

Es gibt also 15 Fragen. Wieviel Zeit darf man nehmen, jede Frage zu antworten? zB, wenn er darf nur eine Minute für jede, dann dauert die ganze Prüfung nur 15-20 Minuten, oder?
Zwischen den Fragen hast man etwa 20 Sekunden Zeit zu antworten und die nächste Frage vorzubereiten. Ja insgesamt dauert dieser Teil ca. 20 Minuten

"Sprechen" braucht sehr viel Übung... am besten mit Muttersprachlern.
"Lesen" kannst du natürlich alleine üben. Lies Texte in Kursbüchern, die deinem Level entsprechen und lerne taglich 5 neue Vokabeln. 🙂👍🙏

Preparation is the key. And don't rush. Most people tend to take tests to early. Wait until you honestly can say to yourself that you have the level that you intend to take the test for. As for A2 don't take the test before or either at the moment you finish an A2 course. Better go on with courses for the next level and take the test once you reached the middle of B1 in your textbook. Like this it shouldn't be a big deal to pass A2, if you always did your homework 😉👍🙏
