Next has one of the most epic and simultaneously metal soundtracks I've ever heard. I'd put it on par with DOOM in levels of sheer awesomeness Edit: Hi me from a year ago. I've watched Nexus now, and while I love Kenji Kawai's score for Nexus like it's my child, there is something inescapably genuine about Tax Matsumoto's soundtrack that he created for the Next. Not only as it metal, but the violin progressions and combination of instruments evoke emotions in me that are not so easily brung out. I think we can agree on one thing: this has got to be one of the best soundtracks of all time.
