I totally get where you are coming from on the population figures. Basically, the problem is that people constantly mix up their figures for the city proper and the full metro area. The city proper in New York (the five boroughs) does only have about 8 million people. Manhattan only has about 1.7 million people living in it. But the full metro area of New York (including Long Island, Jersey City, all the suburbs around the city really regardless of state) is 18-20 million, depending on how different people count it. London proper is also around 8 million people, but if you take the full metro area figure then it's around 14 million (again, depending on who's counting). So many people compare London and New York like they're both around 8 million, when really the metro area of New York has at least 4-6 million more people. @Alfie Green yes your not wrong but the metro population of NY is just NY state not the city, he’s comparing London city and NYC not the greater areas, as London city’s population is 9 mil but the metro population is 14 mil, so he’s not wrong saying the city of London has higher population than NYC
@Alfie Green when you look at the size comparing you see it, New York’s state size is 141,300km2 with only 20 mil people, but London’s metro is only 8,300km2, so NYC is more compact than London but compared to the state London’s metro area of 14 mil is much more compact
@Alfie Green yeah I get what your saying but he’s still wrong, NYC population isn’t 20 mil just like London city’s population isn’t 14 mil, it’s the metro area or state he looked up when he said it’s 20 mil, so in the vid him saying London and NYC’s population are both around 9 mil, he’s right in saying so because that’s the city’s population not wider area
@Alfie Green if he was comparing metro areas then yes NY would have 6 mil more people but it’s the city’s hes comparing
@Alfie Green I don’t make up where’s London and where’s not. I don’t know what your trying to prove here. I said the dude was right for saying that NYC and London’s population is 9 mil
Watching from Swindon in England
You can't disagree with facts.
Just googled. NYC population is 8.419 ml
Need to get on lunar c’s fitb part 3 ASAP man
He is talking about 5 boroughs which is 8.3million at the moment, yonkers/long island and parts of new jersey arenot part of new york city, they are part of the metro area
You have the 5 boroughs of New York and in Comparison you have Greater London. After the London olympics in 2012 Greater Londons population finaly exceeded New Yorks Population.
You ever live in London?
Lived in both! London all the way just better all around!
Never New York city is just better all around
Both private and nhs how their downsides I know people in my family who have had it rough in the nhs and people in my family had it rough through private. They both have down sides for different reasons
Bro can u react to p money while we wait ep
I got you bro
react to a video explaining the nhs

I think you looked up the population for New York State not New York City
The population is correct as its told lol.... you googled the population of new York state not city... but keeping in mind that new York state is 18m people but 5000sq miles bigger than England and England has over 50m people lol. Its like having a 5th of usa total population living in new York state
England is around 50,000 square miles, not 5000 sq miles.

From what I know having never lived there, crimes in London are common all over. Almost everyone i know has been held at knife or gunpoint while living in London, but serious murders are generally contained within gangs in areas where no one except them would head anyway. Top Boy and Blue Story are good at showcasing this
Everyone you know has been held at gunpoint in London that's bullshit guns are illegally in the UK . I've lived in London I've gone home at 3am on my own on the night bus , a lone female and I've never been afraid
@@Lynnwoody1 I know one person that’s been held at gunpoint and two at knifepoint, that’s all. Just cause guns are illegal doesn’t mean they don’t exist
@@joeypalmiero7576 yes career criminals might be able to get their hands on a gun, but it's not the norm, people reading your post who have never been to London would be put off and think it's not safe , It's like anywhere else in the world, it has it's not so nice areas, I'm from Birmingham UK it's a beautiful city but there are areas I've never been to because they have a bad reputation..
@@Lynnwoody1 well it’s not my fault if people get the wrong impression, that’s entirely on them for not doing they’re own research. But of course London has better and worse places, it’s still a beautiful city and one worth visiting
too this day London still has a bigger population than new york, it’s a known fact LOL
London weather is way better London is not as hot and not as cold and the whole rain thing is over rate to me London is better than Singapore then the Uae and Zurich and geinva nyc taxes are to high not enough green space London is technically a forst by definition NYC better trains cause they are 24/7 but the stations are dirty and do not have the amenities London
So where do you think is overall better?

Hi, there is a joke about London, no one knows where it ends, and people lived in Britain before it was an island 12000 bc or before. Regards JH
I’d probably like ATL or Houston by the sound of it. NY probably best but to similar too London lol

Hi from london
S/O London!!
I live in London bro I don't think people should visit it's so boring man and there's deaths and crimes almost everyday New York prob more enjoyable
People never appreciate their home town
Bangkok and Dubai because of its airports- they are hubs-nothing to do with its cities
“Free healthcare” i pay thousands a year on “national insurance” which is what the government takes out of pay cheque.
London has 32 bouroughs
N.h.s. is free, it's paid in taxes yeah but that's not all our taxes go on.we all pay taxes but Americans pay tax but still have to pay for treatment, u.k. doesnt
@Alfie Green 😂😂
You're looking at New York state and not the city lol xD
The nhs is good but it was made when we had a population of 30 million and we now have more than double that so its a bit stretched, unless we stop population rising its gonna be impossible to fund in a couple decades.
The issue with the NHS isn't the larger population over all, it's the larger elderly population, who tend to need the NHS more and cost more, it's been happening since the 60's. We need more younger people to help pay into the system. It's predicted that at the end of this decade the elderly will out number those in work, meaning taxes will have to increase to fund things
@@djlads we dont need more younger people, we need less elderly people, at least proportionately. Were already severley overpopulated, as is the world in general. There needs to be some kind of population control.
@@joealyjim3029 I mean I think we're in the middle of one currently, but too many got upset that the elderly were dying so we're all lcoked down.
