Don’t worry, you will be the only one to notice any deviations or staggers you don’t think are correct, you’re your own worst critic. Looks awesome, just stubbled upon your videos and love the place you’ve built, dream house for sure!
and as soon as the inspector leaves... remove that silly egress step. If there is a fire that few inches aint going to make a difference... put a trunk there or something for looks if you are worried about it.
i mean if my mom stays or young nieces or nephews id worry with their strength. a truck would work though but moving that i dont think its going to happen. its anchored to the floor and ICF wall. id have to jackhammer it up and itd make a huge mess. its kinda out of sight, our of mind to me. i should of just done a window well outside and lowered the window way down.
On the shiplap/carsiding, it’s not the best idea to glue solid wood. It moves. If it can’t move, it cracks. Oh, and real style and rail door panels free float for the same reason. Some might drop a tiny bit of glue in the center…which still allows for movement of the wood. Although being made of OSB and MDF, that shouldn’t be an issue and I’m surprised they aren’t glued in. Unless the panels are in fact solid wood.
it'll be ok. the "glue" is sound accusant sealant. its not glue. its supposed to stay "liquid" or soft for life. so all of them should be able to float on the drywall without issues thankfully. but ill keep that in mind and not glue anything else. ooo gotcha. makes sense for the inserts. from what i can tell, the door frame is OSB with the knotty veneer. the door itself is knotty also but i cant tell whats inside the outer most part or how thick. since the insert is only about 1/2" thick, i believe that is solid knotty alder.

Looks fantastic! I like your closest ideas. Another idea would be wallpaper. Little or minimal sanding if it’s a heavier type paper.
thanks. ill run that by erin. i know she has a few walls picked out that she wants to wall paper.
Don’t worry about sanding use a few damp towels. Like after washing towels. Washer to dryer feeling.
Hell Yea! Room is looking great.
Thanks so much!! Just finished 100%!
Looks pretty sharp and high-end.
thanks!
