From my point of view: Detail - 4/10 Hauling power - 6/10 Efficiency(model railroading perspective) - 8/10 ... I'd say James is alright. He'd be good enough on my model railroad ^...^
I heavily modified my James. I colored his splasher black like it's supposed to, I colored his wheels black, I cut his rear brake pipe because it isn't supposed to form a loop, and I made his front brake pipe face downwards like in the TV series. You should do the same. It looks a lot better.

@MultiThomasfan yes that is what causes the derailment. you should definately remove it because that's what I did and now mine runs perfectly
@thomasandfriends1000 the engine has a hole on the back of it and the tender has a small cylinder on it that goes inside the hole.
i might but I don't particularly either them for some reason. I'll probably get donald and douglas first.

i agree with you, he wasn't Bachmann's best Thomas but he is better priced than Edward.
I have a James I got with his train set. But my dumbass brother broke the front axle off :'( But, for Christmas, he's buying me a new one >:)
