Nice times in the Buzz. Definitely my favourite electric van and the mods you have done look amazing. It’s great you went to see your family and the brigerton sleepover is a cool idea :)
You should have camped out at the White Rose - that would have been an "experience". Joking aside the van looks ideal for little trips like that - not too big yet all the room you need.
😅looks a good camper, ideal for you but at those prices for "filling up", give me my diesel anyday, 50 miles to the gallon. I am sorry but there is a long way to go to convince me to go battery powered
As a person who has only just got a camper for the first time, this is an incredibly inspiring video. I really do want to solo camp, but I've been nervous to try. So thank you for giving me the confidence to try ❤
£72000 grand for a ford transit a lot of money. Solar panel 100w what would that even power. I have have 150w solar panel for my campervan and that will not run a fridge freezer barely. Let alone a TV. Diesel heater
I have a 270 watt slimline solar on top of my VW T6.1 with a 100ah leisure battery, and it runs my 35L fridge ok. (Only used in the British summer, but so far so good) I also have a diesel heater but havent really used it. Maybe a different story in the winter...
Hi Lynsey £42.82 is about the same as 6 gallon of diesel average car doing about 30 mpg = 180 miles So is elec vehicles the way to go as not cheap to run Yes better for the planet but I think charge points need to be cheaper so that more people will buy elec vehicles But well done great clip as always 👍
Yes, I can see that. But we usually charge at home for a fraction of the price. The majority of people don’t do hundreds of miles every single day, and if they did, they would likely start with the day/journey with a battery fully charged up at home. 😊
I still can’t get excited about full electric as I felt quite stressed watching you having to find charging points and waiting around for it to charge, we have hybrid car and love it a lot more stress free. Did enjoy your video but don’t think you really should be commentating while driving, I know it’s not illegal to do what you are doing but would say not something you should be promoting as you can’t be fully concentrating on the road while doing so, you may be a good driver but it’s all the other numpties that we come across daily that you should be worried about
Gone are the days of EV’s being cheaper than Diesel! £42 to top up is absolutely crazy! Of course it’s fine if you can charge at home but no good on rapids etc.
Hi Lindsey, apologies from my wife and I for not saying hello at The White Rose. We were in the dark red Jaguar Sportbrake that parked next but one to you. We knew we recognised you but it was out of context. We didn't expect to see you in The White Rose carpark on a very wet weekday lunchtime. We didn't notice the reg number either. It was only when you and we had scurried into Marks & Spencers out of the rain that my wife and I looked at each other and said together "Roaming Radford's!". By then you'd disappeared into the store. Once again, our apologies for not saying hello and how much we loved the Buzz.
Nice wee blog thanks for sharing but, unfortunately electric vehicles are most definately not for me. Crazy prices to charge on a motorway and you certainly do not get value mileage for the charge cost when compared to the mileage from traditional fuels. The mileage and charging needs would drive me crazy, it reminds me of driving a V8 that didn't like to pass a petrol station. Enjoy and stay safe ❤👍
I’m really envious of that bus its gorgeous ….but electric, that would be a nightmare for me..until a full charge does 600 miles im uninterested, also until the charging infrastructure competes with fossil fuel garages…and its as efficient per mile as diesel..and you get a free coffee per charge..
Great vlog Lindsey. On the contrary it was nice seeing you vlog solo for a change. No disrespect to Steve or the kids intended. Not having an electric vehicle myself, you showed us that your battery charge was £42.00. Do different charge stations charge different rates 18:28 like diesel and petrol stations? Have a wonderful week!
Yes Howard! They do charge different amounts. Sometimes different amounts at different times of the day. Tesla chargers tend to be the cheapest, but they aren’t all open to other cars.
I do not like Electric cars, I find them so stupid. You have to wait so long for a recharge. When with gas cars you just go up to a pump and put gas in and away you go. And a 77 % charge only last 2.5 hrs. Just such a ridiculous thing to ever be invented. I hope to never have to drive one. If going on a long trip would take forever to get there with having to recharge few times. In Canada they are now being brought in and they are hoping by 2035 that they will only sell electric cars. Also if you ever need a new battery it will cost an arm and a leg to get one. Just so so stupid.
I would go up to Orkney, I travel on my own all the time now, as my Dave can't get comfy in our 1996 vw, he has a tracheostomy & feeding rig. But he dosnt mind me escaping every now & then.
that was a nice vlog and I love that van. you'll soon be reunited with Steve . its a strange feeling when your children begin not needing you so much, in one way sad but in another its liberating, enjoy your travels.
loved this video, what a great way to go visit family and have somewhere to stay without having to put anyone out..not that you would. Subscribed for sure. we daily vlog our lives in Florida. Really looking forward to more of your content.
I am a huge fan of Rugby Moto services - those Leicester Forest chargers have been out of action since I got my EV two years ago (or they have been whenever I have been past) The M1 is terrible for charging.
Ahh thank you! I’ve got the GHD rechargeable straighteners. Probably not good enough for more than a single full straighten on my thick curly hair. But they are good enough for a few touch ups and smooth overs! If that makes sense?
I loved watching your Solo Female Stealth Camping in Yorkshire, what a luxury way to visit your family in the ID Buzz. I'm trying to convince my husband to buying an electric camper-van when we tour Europe, once we retire. I look forward to watching many more of your trips Lynds, as always I love watching the Roaming Radfords Family Holidays/Trips😍
Really glad you are putting this helpful info out. We, like you, are huge EV fans, love our car and are looking at the practicalities of this setup for ourselves. This practical, real life info is ideal. Thank you for sharing.
Random question...do those quilt/cushions have a tog rating? Or if you had to guess what wd you estimate? 🤔🤔 They look perfect but are they warm enough? Ta xx
Great video about you travelling on your own with the Buzz and charging and mileage The 🌍🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴is still not ready for more EV’s No infrastructure where I live NE Birmingham is 🤮🤮 Yes, there are charges in supermarkets and there have been 3-4 new ones built and more being built but every time I drive past they are being used and people waiting I would still have mileage anxiety I’m already living with anxiety due to over active thyroid And charging is quite expensive !!! Let’s see how sales of any EV’s go in the next 2 years 👍 👍 🏴🏴🏴😍😍🌼🌼
@@RoamingRadfords I am retired so 50% is driving to Cotswolds and the other 50% is local within around 5 miles I’ll stick with my Petrol VW Tiguan 👍 👍 🌼🌼🏴🏴❤️❤️
It’s sad that you need a spreadsheet to drive somewhere. I drove a Tesla Model 3 for 4 years and never planned by spreadsheet. I used the inbuilt navigation and that worked out where I needed to stop to charge. So much easier when the car maker understands what an EV driver needs.
Welcome along, I think you may be new to our channel? Our other cars for the last 10 years have been Teslas. It’s not sad, it’s funny! Steve created the spreadsheet purely for research purposes for these videos. It’s nothing at all to do with range anxiety or worry. It’s also interesting to track prices and track the growth of our charging network.
How was your head in the morning Lyndsay? Average person breaths 4800l per night and the ID buzz is 3900l plus a bit for the cab…. I suspect unless you have active ventilation the size of the van will mean CO2 levels might be climbing by morning? First symptoms of CO poisoning are headaches.
Pleased you're loving your Buzz, just not for me.Far too small and too claustrophobic it would drive me mad. Exceptional conversion and hopefully years of happy camping ahead Love the Rads vlogs 👍👌
Nice times in the Buzz. Definitely my favourite electric van and the mods you have done look amazing. It’s great you went to see your family and the brigerton sleepover is a cool idea :)
Another great video as I always have a safe trip Lindsay see you on the family one
Thanks Tony x
Loved it Lyndsay the buzz is amazing xx
Thanks Christine x
Yes, more solo Lindsay, great stuff . Great info re your mileage / usage and cost etc. The M1 is certainly a mare at the moment 😂
Brilliant little video.
Thank you x
Looks a great camper
Thank you we love it!
Hi Lyndsy, if you like a duck race we have one atthe Newport Pagnell Carnival next weekend.
Really! I’ve never been to one!
Maybe next weekend will be my first!
Great video and solo camp. Of it were me I would go to Cirencester and stay at the Thames Head Pub.
Love a pub stop!

That’s public charging. Charging at home, which is 98% of our current travel it’s a fraction of that cost.
brilliant
Thank you x
Good to see you have lime bikes dumped outside as well 😂
Everywhere!
How much exactly did you total journey cost in electricity? 43 pounds seems an awful lot ?thanks
As a person who has only just got a camper for the first time, this is an incredibly inspiring video. I really do want to solo camp, but I've been nervous to try. So thank you for giving me the confidence to try ❤
That is the best comment I could have read! I hope you try really soon x
Thank you Lynsey, your response has made my day 💕
I love me a spreadsheet!

I’ve just double checked. We pay 12p per kw at night. Which makes a huge difference x

Its worth noting that the 'open' Tesla chargers cost somewhat less than the rip off rates charged by the Instavolt's, Gridserve's etc.
Yay linz video
Love you all x

What on earth has happened inside that Buzz? The ceiling looks like a murder scene!
Love this video and watching you. I’m thinking of getting a camper and am a lady on my own. Looking forward to the next one.
Liked the video mostly apart from the times you had no hands on the steering wheel, please keep at least one hand on the steering wheel
Oh a battery operated hair straightener? I need to see more of that please? Would you recommend it? What one?
Love the video but I must say you need to keep your 🤲 on the wheel and your 👀 on the road.

I think Woolley Edge might become my new fave! It’s a bit tired, and instavolt costs more than Tesla Chargers, but it a good location for my family!

I did Will! Thank you x
Great vlog. Can we have a link for the toilet please?
@RoamingRadfords
Hello from Trujillo Perú.
Google says that the White Rose shopping centre charges are in carpark 5.
Loved the female solo stealth camping video. Which rechargeable straighteners do you use? It’s the one thing I’m missing when we travel.
Ahh thank you! I’ve got the GHD rechargeable straighteners. Probably not good enough for more than a single full straighten on my thick curly hair.
But they are good enough for a few touch ups and smooth overs! If that makes sense?
Great vlog, enjoyed the facts about charging the buzz, be interesting to know how much it costs to charge at services. (I’ve just binged Bridgerton) 😂
Have you watched Queen Charlotte too? I think that’s my favourite series!!!

They are great for summer use, but we add a second or a heavier weight duvet for winter camping x
Loved the video Lyndsey ❤
Please be careful with position of your seatbelt when you are driving- seems to sit too high on your neck 😘
It’s always that way, with every car.
You asked where we go in our electric campervan - we are just off for a month in Noway in our Vivaro E
Fantastic! Have a fabulous trip!
that was a nice video Lindsay, it was nice for you to be on your own for a change, just having fun with no washing or feeding the youngsters
