Someone commented that perhaps, a quick transformation implies an incomplete initialisation of power where he is only using foul legacy for a few minutes against weaker opponents. His body is given less time to fully comprehend the power spike he just drew so it takes more of a toll. His recent training may relate to him learning to initialise more power before transforming to let his body get used to the power spike and be more efficient in his energy usage during battle for a longer period of time. Something along those lines, it seemed pretty cool for a theory

Even Linnette's voiceline about Neuvelette being kind to the Melusine is sus... because for those who've found the Melusine's village, their village is suspiciously placed on that island where the skeleton of that huge dead dragon can be found.
Gotta love the attention of detail to how Furina isn't worried when Childe resists, rather being intrigued by the whole situation foreshadowing the final act.
Foul legacy is the power Childe got from the abyss (dark realm) that's why he hurt Neuvillete (dragon / light realm), just in case someone asks for the wound

Well I also thought Neuv went to just take him out quick rather than a brawl.

The quality of these animations are pure gold, but 4:15 shows why I *HATE* Genshin's Archon quests. Paimon is calling for you to wake up, says Navia is outnumbered, is presumably hoping you'll help fight. That would've been the perfect place to have us battle waves of bots, then they could start the cutscene as we're overwhelmed to tie the story and gameplay together. Instead, we don't do anything but watch the newest characters be cool and marketable. I love Genshin's gameplay, but the quest design is garbage.
I feel like the only reason Childe was taken out so easily was because Neuvillete used a cheap shot not just during Childe's Foul Legacy transformation but also by attacking from behind. Who would actually win in a head to head fight is more questionable since we haven't yet seen the full extent of Neuvillete's abilities.

the cutscene as we're overwhelmed to tie the story and gameplay together.

I feel like the only reason Childe was taken out so easily was because Neuvillete used a cheap shot not just during Childe's Foul Legacy transformation but also by attacking from behind. Who would actually win in a head to head fight is more questionable since we haven't yet seen the full extent of Neuvillete's abilities.
