Music is meant to make people think and to face tough topics like this head on. It's been just over a year since I tried to commit suicide. Luckily, my mom found me in time, but at that time, I didn't think there was any other option for me. I'm glad things worked out the way they did, now, but it's been a long hard road to get me to where I am now. I just really wish that there was more people who would open their eyes, see that this is a serious issue that needs attention, and realize that mental illnesses are not a joke. When you're in that deep of a depression, it does feel hopeless, like there is absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel, and suicide is your only hope. I know now, that things can get better, but like I said, it took a long time to get here. I will continue to fight for me, and be here for anyone else who may need someone in their corner while they're trying to fight through it. I love that you do all kinds of music, like this one, that have such a strong message, but not all of us may have heard otherwise. I'm glad you and your mom are finally feeling better! I honestly thought about committing suicide before, a multiple different times between 2009-2013. I'd say mentally, I am a well grounded person. I know who I am, I know what I will do & will not do. I care about people. I'm not selfish. I do what I can, when I can. I'm not selfless either. I found a balance a long time ago as a kid with that kind of thing. I'd always tell people, I'm not super-man, I just do what I can if I say I can. But, when my world started caving in, it started at home. I'm not sure how it was for you. When that happened, everything started happening at the same time. I held up for a long time, through a broken family, a rough living area, bad friends and I was okay until I started dating the devil. At this time, my mom was going through a failing marriage of 12 years & where it use to be me & my mom talking everyday (like in our videos) went to barely talking in a week, under the same roof (she was going through a depression as well). The girl I was dating at the time is a whole other story, just know she was psychotic and shes great at mental destruction of other people, with no remorse. She practiced phycology on the regular basis to get what she wants. I'm glad you have been able to pull through, I know how it feels & it's a place I will never return to. It was like drowning for ever, then being pulled out the water by a life guard. My situation only made me stronger than before because I got through it. My mom is the reason why I got out of it too, she got a divorce & moved, by then I had just graduated High School. Thanks for keeping up with us Amy, it's always a pleasure hearing from you! My mom will be starting her own channel here soon, so I will let you know! :D
Honestly, if it wasn't for music like this hitting these types of hard topics, I really don't think anyone would think twice about it, if it isn't something they already knew about through family and friends. It's not an easy thing to go through, especially when your rock is going through it right with you. My dad left my mom, for the second time, which sent me into a spiral, but my mom just sank. I put all of my feelings aside to get her through it, but once my God son and, a few months later, my boyfriend passed away, I gave up. I was sick of fighting and feeling like I was getting nowhere. Obviously, now, thing are a lot different, which I am very grateful for, but it was pretty much the hardest, most challenging time of my life. and that's saying a lot. I'm so glad you've worked through those hard times too. I believe everyone truly deserves to be happy. But, we have to fight for it too! 😘
