    Hi guys ! In today's art video, I finally got my toxic-free oil mediums ! I bought the entire Green for Oil collection by Sennelier. There is 2 mediums, 1 thinner and 1 brush cleaner. Come with me unbox the package, and try on these new products, from start to finish, on paper AND canvas !
    Also, I'm unemployed at the moment, so I might post twice a week ! I'll see how that goes. xx

    Hi! Thank you for this review! It makes a bit more clear for me how to use these products, because there is not very much information on the internet about these. I was wondering now how you dispose of like the leftover paint thinner and cleaner? I imagine you can’t just empty the jar into the sink? It would be a great help if you could tell anything about this 😁

    Hi, thank you for this review, it‘s really helpful! I wanted to buy a non toxic paint thinner and accidentally ordered the cleaner instead. Do you think it works for painting too?

      hi! they smell weird, but in a more 'natural' way, and it isn't too persistent. I'm very sensitive to prominent smells, but these do not affect me ! thank you for the comment :)

    I have been trying to find out if anyone is using the Chelsea Lavender Spike oil and mediums for use with water soluble oil paints. Have you tried your Sennelier products with those paints? I would say that unless you are using oil primed papers like the Arches Oil pads your paper must have a primer even just gesso on your paper would protect your sketchbook papers. I do know that unless you protect your paper even watercolor paper with gesso or oil ground, the oil paint will actually "eat" your paper and even canvas! Thank you for your time.

      Hi! My bad, I should have mentioned my paints
      I’m using Lefranc bourgeois and Schmincke oils!
      Also for the sketchbook : I feel so stupid because it’s so obvious that you need to put gesso on the paper before, but for some reason at that moment my brain switched and I forgot about it, so obviously that’s why it didn’t worked out 😅
      Thank you for reaching out and leaving a comment here ! I’ll definitely check the Chelsea lavender ones in the future ! 😊✨

    Hey thanks been searching for a review, quick Question for a new oil artist, i can only buy one medium as of now and only need it for one drawing, thought about buying the Paint Thinner, is it also useable as a Cleaner for the brushes? And how do you throw the Oils away? Do they need a special disposal even tho not toxic?

    • @witchylaurie
      @witchylaurie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi ! I tried to clean my brushes with the oil thinner, it's not as good as the cleaner, but it works ! + if you clean your brushes with soap afterwards, it should work :)
      Usually you should throw the residual oil material in a specific trash, like the biohazard one (?) I'm not 100% sure, and idk how it is depending where you're from ! I'm from France, there's no particular rules here so I'm sorry I can't help here :/
      BUT I think with these mediums, you should be fine throwing it away (in a regular trash can, or flushing down the toilet) as it is not toxic and made from natural ingredients !
      Thank you for your comment, I'm still new to oils myself, so I would suggest doing some more research so you can get more infos ! :)
      xx

    Did you paint straight onto a drawing paper? If so, you will need a paper suitable for oils or you can prime the paper with acrylic. That way the oil won't soak through the paper and it will last much longer. Oil straight on ordinary paper will degrade the paper over time and you will lose your painting.

    • @witchylaurie
      @witchylaurie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! yes someone already mentioned it in the comments, (I thought i pinned said comment) but yeah I didn't primed it with gesso or acrylic, my bad ! I guess we learn everyday ^^ have a good day

    I’m just going to throw this out there, with love of course, non toxic doesn’t always mean non toxic and you REALLY should be care with not only ventilation but also skin contact with those products. If you want your painting hobby to be long, gloves gloves gloves.
