I love the look of the Defenders (primarily 110/130) but I’d definitely go with the i6. My question to you Ben, what would be your rebuttal to a video done by an Aussi in the last year or so where he totally slams LR Defender? His channel is 4xoverland.

I own basically the exact same vehicle. That one has some weird options; air compressor but not off-road pack, extended leather option is pricy for what it includes, does it have 3 zone climate without a 3rd row??? Sticker on my '23 was approximately $73K. Almost identical with upgraded wheels, off-road pack, and black paint. Same vehicle with the I6 was approximately $7K more. Bigger engines are great but have a cost. The I4 out performed the comparable vehicles driven; 4Runner, Bronco, Jeep. Interior standard features and ride quality were superior to competitors. Everyone talks about reliability but I'm still unsure what that means. I have experience with several LR products with 7 years of ownership and nothing but scheduled maintenance. I have not had the same experience with other manufacturers. If dealer had an I6 with the same options, I may have purchased instead. However, after owning and coming from a V8, I don't think its necessary or best us of money. Also plan on purchasing a second set of 18" wheels for off-road, so a plus to the I4.

Was hoping for an uphill canyon drive to see how it really accelerates. Guessing not great.

Doing mostly highway mileage… and averaging 22/23 mpg. From what I’ve heard i6 is down in the 17’s

Good looking just too expensive and it would be interesting to see the long-term reliability.

Same with the Bronco. The six outperforms the four and the gas mileage difference isn’t that much. Good review.

Why you still doing Defender videos when you sold out on the brand?

When you look at this car you can see why people are drawn to them. But like a moth to a flame 🤔 we know how that usually ends 🔥. I can’t help thinking of the LC Ben just bought and how it is in some ways similar in stature etc to this LR but is the polar opposite in terms of reliability and longevity. The Ingenium engines, LRs own engines, which have only been in production for a handful of years, have serious timing chain related issues and a 2 litre unit in a vehicle of this size 🤔 and the gas mileage is only minimally better.

I'm not sure who would buy this vehicle when the Toyota Land Cruiser is more affordable, has more power and probably will be significantly more reliable.

Nice looking vehicle but like all Range Rover very unreliable. At an early point in time this vehicle will begin to develop issues, and spend most of it's life in the shop.
