For those wondering how they stay still, its the leash at the collar that maintains this posture. That gently pull allows them to remain still/compliant.
Aww.thats stinks you never seen a Shih tzu sit so well. I've never not had my shih tzu sit still for a grooming. One of mine falls asleep sometimes while getting groomed. Lol Craziest thing.
My shih tzu would never stand up so proper like that , he would lay down on me when I mess with him bc he knows I can’t get to him if he lays down. So my haircuts come out weird . Now I just take him to the groomers . But this is so relaxing to watch ! I love this video !
What a show dog stanz, the owner should be proud, you did a great job with him/her. I work with mine for grooming, but my 7 year old has hip problems, he can not stand like that, worked with him since puppy, but, not all babies can handle the long stand, vet said puts alot of stress on their hips.

This is a beautiful grooming job. I have a Shih Tzu that get fear aggressive at a groomer or the vet. I groom my own poodle but I’m getting older no, 77, and have groomed my own Shih Tzu but could you help me out with what clipper blade and what snap comb did you use. This is exactly the way I want my Shih Tzu to look. I’ve always groomed my own poodles....this is my first Shih Tzu and although I do take her to a groomer who is now able to handle her, I would love to do it myself as much as possible. I just need to know the proper blade, snap comb that you used. Thank you for any help you can provide to me. I love your scissoring! I think I can do it if I know the number of the blade and snap comb you used for the body and blended legs......oh thank yo so much!
Wondering what blade/comb you are using...I have an Andis Ultra Edge...need to get some combs...I use it with straight blades on Schnauzers...but have a fairly new ShihTzu here now.

This is the best shih tzu grooming I've seen on TH-cam. I groom my baby at home cause the only thing the groomers I know do Is shave her and she looks horrible.
Do you brush your dog in between groomings? The reason she is getting shaved is because she’s matted, you can’t expect groomers to do 2 months of coat maintenance in one session. Owners need to maintain their dogs if they want a certain look.
