Ever since I found boygenius, something changed for me. To me, it is revolutionary how non-apologetic and undeniably queer they are. Lucy, Phoebe and Julien are so joyous about it. Not to make it all about myself, but being 17 and bi is not the easiest thing ever. On the daily, I question who I am. Finding boygenius changed the course of many things for me. The boys taught me that queerness is so deeply rooted in love and joy that I have been able to pretty much come to terms with my identity. They make me feel good about myself.
I appreciate the fact you added this comment on this specific song because I think it explains in a very soft but charming way (like only Lucy can do) a deep connection between two lovers, whoever they are, and being truly understood by each other. I’m happy that you shared your story with us and I’m in sympathy with lots of your words so thanks! Btw this is my favourite song of the record and I hope to see them live one day and perhaps shout out on this song!!

How did I not know Melina Duterte, a k.a Jay Som, was in this band?! Amazing!! Her work is so beautiful, and on the same wavelength as Lucy, Phoebe, and Julian.
