Bio: Wajahat S. Khan is an Emmy-nominated journalist and author reporting on Indo-Pacific security and focusing on the Af-Pak conflict. An Adjunct Professor at New York University’s Center of Global Affairs and non-resident Senior Fellow at Washington’s Atlantic Council, Khan is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism and the University of Michigan, as well as Pakistan’s only Shorenstein Fellow for Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has reported from 16 countries covering conflict, diplomacy, and media for digital, cable and network news. During the final years of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan, Khan was bureau chief in Kabul and Islamabad for NBC News, and embedded with over a hundred NATO, Afghan, Indian and Pakistani military and paramilitary units as he covered South Asia for leading US, British, Indian, Japanese and Pakistani networks and publications since the beginning of the 2001 U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. Recently, he served as the Digital Editor at Nikkei Asia, where he launched Nikkei’s first podcast series, and edited a popular weekend newsletter at the Eurasia Group. Wajahat & Shams: I am going to rephrase the comment of my grandfather (dada ) about hunger strike and Gandhi. My grandfather had taken one year break from AMU to take part in independence movement in 1946-47.
According to him Gandhi’ hunger strike was against British Raj who were human being and were afraid of the violence in case Gandhi death. Therefore Gandhi always won. Today IK should be carefull there is no compassion and respect of life of a bloody civilian.
Mr. Gandhi used to plan an attack on Muslims and his followers would attack the innocent Muslims. When the “ job “ would be near end he would go on strike as a protest and cry for dead Muslims.
You can follow his time line starting from mass killing in Bihar, Calcutta and Nawakhali Bengal. You will notice the same pattern again and again.
No one should follow a stupid idea of hunger strike. If the man or men die this would be a Haram death and his body will not get the Islamic burial.
Do not follow the fraudulent man who was a fake as a three dollar bill.
Sadly IK has morons in his team giving idiotic advice.
