What if chemical warfare happened in europe during WW2? Germany had huge stockpiles of Sarin and the UK stockpiled Anthrax, so in my eyes it's more surprising it didn't happen.
It was asked during the nuremberg trials, basically the germans had some plans for chemical warfare in future wars, but fearing it would be used in return against them they never used those. Though the progress in chemical warfare was used in concentration camps and the death showers mainly
It would push the end of the war back but as soon as the Soviets and Allies recover from the shock, they retaliate in kind in a massive scale. Keep in mind, Germany largely used horse-drawn carts and couldn’t find an adequate gas mask for the horses. Chemical warfare would lead to most of the animals dying and their logistics being absolutely crippled.
I think it would make more sense that Republican Spain declared war on Germany during the invasion of Poland together with France and Britain because I think that the battle and occupation of France would pose a direct threat to Republican Spain, especially since the Germans helped the nationalists during the civil war.
What if USA fought against Japan in 1937, and such joined WW2 while it started in 1939? Context: KMT had a great lobbying effort in US, which brought more trade and specialists from US, which resulted in thousands of american casualties when ROC was attacked which resulted in demand to stop japanese aggression. Hence, America jumped into the war to "protect" their trade and such. (Credit to TheArklyte for the idea)
Best coverage of that idea I'm seen is Harry Turtledove's American Front books, though I do recommend reading the prequel How Few Remain as it's one Turtledove's better books. Overarching: 1917 French Desertions lead to a collapse of the lines because they knew no more (American) reinforcements were coming. But what happens in America... is a tale worth reading
What if at the start of the Siberian intervention, Japan finds Alexei Romanov and makes him a puppet ruler of Siberia to justify their ongoing “intervention”? Yes Alexei Romanov is assassinated in July and the intervention starts in August, so either move the intervention forward a couple of months, or have the Czechoslovak Legion rescue Alexei and bring him to the Japanese. Either way, Japan should remain in Siberia after October 1922, with enough legitimacy so that America doesn't embargo Japan or force Japan's withdrawal, & Japan can pay for the “intervention” with Siberian gold/iron/gems/fur. Or, alternatively, one of his sisters, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, or Anastasia, survives and is married into the Japanese royal family giving Japan a claim over all of Russia.
What if chamberlain senior succeeded in his attempt to form an alliance between Britain and Germany. Either by chamberlain’s proposal having no possible way to be deceit/ the Germans just doing what chamberlain wanted and also rejecting the traditional procedures of old diplomacy in the first meeting about it, or by Britain realising what the German proposal actually meant, Von Eckardstein not misleading both parties, and Chamberlain not making the English position seem weak and for both parties to stop over-analysing each other’s proposals.
I love how The Great War turns the Central Powers winning into Kaiserreich. It's a fun little thing that makes it almost feel like the two mods are part of the same alternate history story canon.
I love your videos, you always teach me something new, little details about history and I really appreciate it. So I'll try to teach you something in terms of possibility too. When you read those names in articles. That "š" is read as "sh". The same applies to "ž", where it's like "zh" (ex. Zhukov) and "č" is like I'd say "ch". (ex. Chechnya) Keep up the good work! :)

What if germany didn't use the Schlieffen plan and thus didnt draw Britain in? (Open to other means like Britain joining later due to other means but basically just not immediarely through the invadion of belgium)
What if in the first world war germany focused more on the east instead of west to capture the wheatfields of the Oekraïne to counteract the famine caused by the British blockade. Further explanations in the repplies.
Basically germany would realise that the von schlieffenplan wouldn't be useful as the version they ended up with was so altered that it was a mere shadow of its original self. The Germans would also know that even if they could beat the British navy, that it would still be a massive issue to transport food to Germany because of the tactical advantage the British Isles offer. So instead of going all in on the French and leaving Russia for later, they would instead fortify alsace Lotharingia to stop any French advance and focus on the east to capture the bountiful wheatfields of the Oekraïne. The main idea is that because of the long time required for the Russians to mobilise, they would try and gain as much ground west of the Urals to deny the Russians of their small industrial base and high population centers. Without new guns, men and the constant pressure of both the Austro-Hungarian and German army would force the Russians to capitulate. Thus leaving a one front war against France. The intresting part could be that beforehand the Germans covertly agitate the many minorities in the Russian Empire like the Poles, Lithuanians, Latvians, Finnish, Oekraïnians,... to rise up when Germany advances and fight with them with a promise for independence. If you have any remarks or questions i'll be happy to answer them.

The French starting the war in 1915 seems unlikely as they would still be stuck with the Lebel and 3 shot Berthier. It would be utterly stupid to start an offensive traditional war when you are far worse equipped than your opponent.
