Great reaction. Just wanted to clarify a couple points. First, “For Whom the Bell Tolls” was never on MTV. That song is from 1984, and Metallica’s first music video “One” is from 1988. Secondly, Dave Mustaine was already out of the band before Metallica even recorded their first album. He does get writing credit for many of the songs on the first album though.
They kicked him out before any of the albums because he was a violent drunk. Some of his riffs were on the first two albums, but Kirky baby played them.
