I concur with Shan on 83. It really boils your blood knowing that the film bombed. It had everything in its favour: Nostalgia, Cricket, Real Triumph Story, Great casting and acting, writing BUT.....
Shaan sushant was cancelled when he removed "Rajput" as his title because padmavat was being boycotted by karni sena. He was also targeted for playing sarfaraz in pk and was accused of promoting love jihad , even he was cancelled and targeted for playing "mansoor" in kedarnath.

It was due to director Kabir Khan's propaganda to show Pakistan in good light. For ex. Pakistan stopped firing as people of India was watching world cup final match. This never happened. This scene was an attempt of whitewashing Pakistan's crimes.🧐

The part from 01:40:00 was terrific and an excellent assessment of how action oriented stars could still keep Action as their core working genre by trying to make the sequences stick to their true motives and not doing it just to showcase their abs but doing justice to the story and ongoing scene.

But to take out the victim card everytime, even with respectful disagreements shows what sort of an entitled and classist person he really is. He is literally being mocked after he gave stupid statements like the one interview which had Mallika Dua with him. Plus his crapfest filled talkshow which demeans others, mainly outsiders is what gets him into trouble. He isn't even good with his craft, made some really dumb movies in the past. The only thing we can credit him for is his astute business sense. 01:09:30 - Pratik Borade. I used to like him before but then I watched his review of Udaan and Thappad. He doesn't want cinema to reflect on the evils of society. He does make good points at times but then he is follower of Asharam Bapu lmao. I find him regressive in thoughts but yes 40% of his views do make sense and it improves my Hindi vocabulary XD.
yes the only good thoughts he give away are somewhat about culture and patriotism but the time he jumps on hate propaganda he looks like toxic person. I loved SSR even when he was alive but yes many people made their career and got extra mileage using his death. It was sad but I still hope he gets actually justice.

Soo sooo True...Pratik Borade ka channel I have been following since 5 years..And It was a very different way of reveiwing videos when I first started watching it.. But Now..The Hate and Negativity every now and Then..is off the roofs..🤬🤬

1:48:00 slightly disagree there I just want to point out that Oldboy 2003 is not just a action revenge film it's beyond that the story, screenplay, human nature nuance and subtlety with which Park Chan Wook has directed the film one of best screenplays in modern movie history and that twist in the end uff so The "Mota-Mota" emotion can work in a John Wick or Khuda Hafiz 2 but not in such a layered film like Oldboy you need an actor who is master of his craft like Choi Min Sik and what he managed to pull off in the climax is a dream for some actors.. I think anmol was referring to I saw the devil which also a South Korean revenge film but got confused... Because I don't think it's fair to compare the acting range of a Keanu or a vidyut with Choi Min Sik

This is for the first time I have watched a podcast this long. The reason I watched it is because I felt I was a part of a conversation between 3 friends, and I am the 3rd one just listening. The reason this is so likeable is the fact that both creators focus on their content and majorly talk about their work and not gossiping around their peers from the industry or making random comments to gain views. The thumbnail of this podcast is also not jarring to grab clicks. I am glad Jammy was a part of this. Shan, well done, my man. I'm looking forward to many more such great episodes. One thing I disagree with Shan is that prabhas not getting hate from audience . I don’t know about Hindi audience but Telugu audience and reviews bashed him . Be it for the way he is looking or the movie itself . If you check out Telugu reviews you will understand. And one thing I agree with Anmol is that Telugu audience are loyal and they move on quickly from one movie to other . Jus like they did from Sahoo to Radhe shyam to Adipurush . All three became flops . They moved on and all hopes are on salaar and project K

The point raised on how underrepresented or misrepresented special forces in indian movies is bang on. Either they make a superhero kind of BS with an Over the top bgm's or plain stupid on technical stand point. Even a movie like uri is such a bad representation when it comes to technical stand point of conducting an operation if you compare it with for e.g zero dark thirty (just the way SF or Sof personal move and conduct operations).

41:40 ....this ....this needed to be said about Sushant Singh...and Shan you are the first person in India who said this thing on this level ...❤️ I have been watching Sushant from the very first episode of Pavitra Rishta... He removed 'Rajput' from his name after the controversy of Padmavat movie ...(which in my opinion was an immature gesture) He was getting huge amount of hate for hurting the sentiments of a particular group of people. And after his death people are asking for justice for him by taking his name wrong (which in my opinion was only to get support from as large number of people as possible) ... And the worst thing is we are waiting for next Sushant Singh to die ...by not supporting the talented actor's work ...and when they will go away...we will be shouting for their justice .

I loved their conversation. Watching this interview I realize that I was also getting involved in hate. They have given a complete picture of how films should be watched, making us understand what the directors/actors want to talk about. This is an outstanding podcast. So much pleasure to see two cinephiles talking openly about cinema. The hypocrisy I saw after SSR's death absolutely blew me away. Everybody was up in arms against Bollywood and Karan Johar. Keep in mind that I don't like Kjo too but all these mindless conspiracy theories going on just irritated me to a level that I can't explain. It seemed to me that people like Arnab Goswami don't have any other thing to do other than spreading hate against Bollywood and giving life to these bullshit conspiracy theories. I don't know how he can call himself a journalist when as a journalist, I've never seen him highlight the actual conditions of the country which need to be highlighted. There was this friend of mine who was so up in arms against Bollywood that she even threatened to break our friendship just because I had a different take and I exposed her hypocrisy with regards to Sushant and Sonchiriya. The least you can do is to let the man rest in peace rather than doing cheap politics in his name. It's unbelievable how people in this age can be so immature to get swayed by few people on social media and other media platforms. Those who targeted Jammy for reviewing Pathaan conveniently forgot that he highlighted the negative aspects of the movie too. Now comes Adipurush and my god, the amount of hypocrisy going on around Prabhas is mind-boggling. I can't imagine if it was a Khan, or rather any Bollywood actor for example Hrithik Roshan. The amount of hate that he'd get is unbelievable but somehow, Prabhas is being left out of this. Why??? Because he's from the South?? Isn't this hypocrisy??

Nice podcast!! I still disagree with you guys opinions on Bawaal. I thought it was a very good film that got bashed unnecessarily just because of one scene in Aushwitz. I also found that one scene comparing relationship to Aushwitz cringe and disturbing, but the overall movie is such a feel-good comedy that you can take away much more from it than negativity and that's all the 'reviewers' took apparently
Don't agree with some points of Shan and Anmol but they at least engage with the comments when you have something of substance to say. It feels genuine when the creator gives a good reply/comeback that makes you think the argument further. Glad to see you both.

Thanks Jammy for the Khuda Hafiz mention (I like Vidyut and do agree on the range part, but hez been trying to create a niche). Shan is brutal and that’s the beauty I guess, but do watch Khuda Hafiz 1 to watch Vidyut act (maybe the only time he did some brilliant emotional scenes.) All in all engaging conversation 👏
I liked 83 movie and I agree that not only ranveer but everyone was very good in that movie. But I can understand why 83 did not work. Because while it felt like a good movie but it felt more like a documentary. It was more or less like watching cricket World Cup highlights. And people already see lot of cricket. And people might have heard the story of 83 number of time. Already people know all the stories behind 83 world cup.
Anupama is nothing,. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, another starplus show has 4000+ episode and still running. It started in " 2009 " and it's 3rd generation now. Seriously lead character`s doughter's doughter's story is running now.😂 More episodes then tarakh metha. And show still has good TRP.

Thank you guys for bringing out the point of not backing our actors/actresses who are full of talent. People like Avinash Tiwary, Tripti Dimri, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Tiwary, Sanjay Mishra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anushka Sharma etc who follow true cinema often not gets early attention and their fabulous movies often goes unnoticed. Even good movies of SRK, Ranbeer, Ranveer (mainstream Heroes) goes in a bad shape on BO. Our previous gen as an audience failed to grow the cinema of India at the world level.

1:48:00 slightly disagree there I just want to point out that Oldboy 2003 is not just a action revenge film it's beyond that the story, screenplay, human nature nuance and subtlety with which Park Chan Wook has directed the film one of best screenplays in modern movie history and that twist in the end uff so The "Mota-Mota" emotion can work in a John Wick or Khuda Hafiz 2 but not in such a layered film like Oldboy you need an actor who is master of his craft like Choi Min Sik and what he managed to pull off in the climax is a dream for some actors.. I think anmol was referring to I saw the devil which also a South Korean revenge film but got confused... Because I don't think it's fair to compare the acting range of a Keanu or a vidyut with Choi Min Sik

This is for the first time I have watched a podcast this long. The reason I watched it is because I felt I was a part of a conversation between 3 friends, and I am the 3rd one just listening. The reason this is so likeable is the fact that both creators focus on their content and majorly talk about their work and not gossiping around their peers from the industry or making random comments to gain views. The thumbnail of this podcast is also not jarring to grab clicks. I am glad Jammy was a part of this. Shan, well done, my man. I'm looking forward to many more such great episodes. Either they make a superhero kind of BS with an Over the top bgm's or plain stupid on technical stand point. Even a movie like uri is such a bad representation when it comes to technical stand point of conducting an operation if you compare it with for e.g zero dark thirty (just the way SF or Sof personal move and conduct operations).

This is an outstanding podcast. So much pleasure to see two cinephiles talking openly about cinema. The hypocrisy I saw after SSR's death absolutely blew me away. Everybody was up in arms against Bollywood and Karan Johar. Keep in mind that I don't like Kjo too but all these mindless conspiracy theories going on just irritated me to a level that I can't explain. It seemed to me that people like Arnab Goswami don't have any other thing to do other than spreading hate against Bollywood and giving life to these bullshit conspiracy theories. I don't know how he can call himself a journalist when as a journalist, I've never seen him highlight the actual conditions of the country which need to be highlighted. There was this friend of mine who was so up in arms against Bollywood that she even threatened to break our friendship just because I had a different take and I exposed her hypocrisy with regards to Sushant and Sonchiriya. The least you can do is to let the man rest in peace rather than doing cheap politics in his name. It's unbelievable how people in this age can be so immature to get swayed by few people on social media and other media platforms. Those who targeted Jammy for reviewing Pathaan conveniently forgot that he highlighted the negative aspects of the movie too. Now comes Adipurush and my god, the amount of hypocrisy going on around Prabhas is mind-boggling. I can't imagine if it was a Khan, or rather any Bollywood actor for example Hrithik Roshan. The amount of hate that he'd get is unbelievable but somehow, Prabhas is being left out of this. Why??? Because he's from the South?? Isn't this hypocrisy??

Nice podcast!! I still disagree with you guys opinions on Bawaal. I thought it was a very good film that got bashed unnecessarily just because of one scene in Aushwitz. I also found that one scene comparing relationship to Aushwitz cringe and disturbing, but the overall movie is such a feel-good comedy that you can take away much more from it than negativity and that's all the 'reviewers' took apparently

The only two sane film reviewers in today’s times. Lovely conversation. Thank you for bringing up important topics that are so relevant today. Thanks Jammy for the Khuda Hafiz mention (I like Vidyut and do agree on the range part, but hez been trying to create a niche). Shan is brutal and that’s the beauty I guess, but do watch Khuda Hafiz 1 to watch Vidyut act (maybe the only time he did some brilliant emotional scenes.) All in all engaging conversation 👏

I liked 83 movie and I agree that not only ranveer but everyone was very good in that movie. But I can understand why 83 did not work. Because while it felt like a good movie but it felt more like a documentary. It was more or less like watching cricket World Cup highlights. And people already see lot of cricket. Thank you guys for bringing out the point of not backing our actors/actresses who are full of talent. People like Avinash Tiwary, Tripti Dimri, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Tiwary, Sanjay Mishra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anushka Sharma etc who follow true cinema often not gets early attention and their fabulous movies often goes unnoticed. Even good movies of SRK, Ranbeer, Ranveer (mainstream Heroes) goes in a bad shape on BO. Our previous gen as an audience failed to grow the cinema of India at the world level.
