I film in SD mode on my 60d with a Peleng fisheye and really like the way my footage comes out. I get a little lens flares in the corners sometimes that kinda look like the vig on a VX. You can check out some of my videos if you're interested.
Make a faux vignette in photoshop to help cover that - Also helps direct the eye towards the center of the image, as well as helps contour the distortion around the edges.
