i have tested it in second playtest, it didnt work, even so it showed the ambush icon active, there was no bonus damage to dummy, but maybe it was a damage icon bug or they just changed it
What a great guide. I only played rogue till I got to level 20 (still had tons of fun), but my teammate played a lot of rogue and figured out most of the stuff you talk about in the video. The only thing I would add is to try to use as many throwing knives as possible. They can make a difference when you didn't quite kill an enemy with your surprise attack and you need to keep a distance. Repoze is a youtuber who is very effective with them and has a series of videos playing rogue.
Inivs potions used to work for procing Ambush, but they didn't in the Feb playtest. They made hidden and invisible separate categories when they made Light reveal hidden but not invisible players. Also, don't sleep on +Action Speed for increasing DPS, especially on rogue. Personally I agree with your tiers for damage rolls, except I'd put +Action speed at #4 and bump the rest down one.
Really like the video thanks for it any chance you could just list out the perks of each build, the perk section was just a little confusing as there wasn't really a separation between the perks of the two setups? Thanks again!
Would you ever go rapier? And how do you prioratizeto swing with either Left or right hand weapon. with other class u can chain them but not on rogue. So im just confused about it;)
You can have a stabby weapon in one hand and a slashy weapon in the other. Stabby weapons are more consistent, slashy weapons have big damage, switch as necessary.
At the beginning of the video you say "when taking hide as your active ability you are forgoing the 50% from weakpoint." The most recent playtest was my first one and I figured stacking weakpoint and ambush was the way to go, is that the wrong way of going about it?
Why is he using the Castillion dagger when he's not attacking with it? It reduces movement speed but I guess it's for secondary stats? Is there any other benefits?
Yo Kist I could be wrong but I think you have a scammer posting in here. Telling me to message them on telegram asking for a bunch of info because I "won" a gaming pc setup. I think you already saw since the reply to my comment down below with that message isn't showing up anymore but just wanted to let you know just in case.
Rogue is easily my favorite class, but every damn aspect of rogue feels intentionally hamstrung, except for the one niche that you commit your entire build towards and the only slightly above average when done as a burst damage build by a small margin. Pickpocket is the perfect encapsulation of all the problems. PvP exclusive ability, 2sec (i think) cast time, breaks stealth to use (which is the only practical use case), doesn't really accomplish much that couldn't be achieved by other means anyway (just kill them if you're in range to pick pocket), and eats up a perk slot just to be usable. Even the utility of lock picking just feels undermined by lock picks existing and locked wooden chests being distructable while a number of secret areas being blocked by barrels, chests, and crates that rogues can't break. Dps wise you're so much more gear reliant than barb, they have trap detection & caltrops (also the only non-rechargable ammo ability?) but can't use bear traps, the stealth (and dps technically) is worse for wizard's and practically useless for PvE between step limitation and how the AI is programmed, scouting is just better done by rangers because of tracking, and archers in PvE cause their lack of range, healing, or durability, to feel like the literal worst possible option. Worst option in PvE, not the best option in PvP, and there's not nearly enough locked things (even knowing where most spawns are) so the average number of lockpicks needed in a run is still
It is hamstrung because it would be a no-brainer best choice if it didn't have all these limitations, but you can work around them, master strengths, like the high base speed, eliminate the weaknesses by learning to dodge and gearing up and you'll be a force to... well, either a force that took all the loot and disappeared or a force that stabbed the healer and the wizard to death in the space of 5 seconds, but you have to choose.
@@csaki01 Obviously it'd be OP too if you removed ALL of its' weaknesses. I'm just pointing out all of them, but realistically only some of them need to be fixed. It's just poor design that all of a class's utility is undermined by PvE/AI design and the accessibility of lockpicks + the limitations of barrels/crates. If haste potions, bolas, and combat invis charms were a thing, it would completely undermine wizard's utility in a similar way (just as an example). Their damage is probably fine in terms of PvP, but the lack of flexibility in their ability to engage PvE is completely impractical.
@@Deadlychuck84 Yeah, I agree, PvE sucks with rogue, I avoid enemies more than fight them, waiting for others to clear out the annoying enemies and then go loot secret rooms.
@@JimSimFtw I mean, it literally does. I know you're trying to get an epic own, but it is a set of four limbs that each consist of a straight line bent in half by a 90 degree angle. The only difference is that the hide symbol has a head on top and two of the limbs are turned the other way.

i wish there were 1v1 practice servers to practice your mechanics like in Chivalry 2 or Mordhau
1:09 Yes, invisibility potions do activate ambush.
It's a shame u can't use the perk to slightly crouch walk invisible with those potions. Feels like a missed opportunity

The dummy have some problems to show dmg scaling
You had me at "pocket the purple necklace and tell them it was common loot (rogue life)".

You can count your steps while crouch walking. This should help with the stealth movement perk :)
Could you do a recap example builds? It seems like every perk is a must have but can only fit in 4 perks and 2 skills :)
Thanks for the vid
Lol I like the background runescape music, it's a nice touch -- this game makes me think of a 1st person RS without the terrible stat grind
Bro, i love the RuneScape music, so nostalgic man, keep up the good work 🤟
If you have a wizard teammate, get him to use invis on you during a fight, it also procs ambush

what weapon would you recommend, sir?
I wish I wasn’t bad and could play rogue. Shit is difficult for sure you make it look easy

A solo rogue doesn't need hide, what he needs is trap detection and all the damage he can get from other skills and perks.
barbarian village music in the background :D
Why is he using the Castillion dagger when he's not attacking with it? It reduces movement speed but I guess it's for secondary stats? Is there any other benefits?
u have a link to the ranger dmg test?
Long time no see big guy.
7:59 ITS NOT
Dark and darker is a game where I will play it, rage at it... and then play it an hour later
you can do with invis
how do you somewhat move and not break ambush
Stealth perk. Allows you to move while in hide but only 10 steps and you have to be crouching or walking
07:58 "he shoots me in the dick that's fine" xD bruh i died
1:57 LMAO
Your videos are really nice mate! Cool info, cool skills, and also cool energy! Cheers! Keep up the nice work!

Started y'day, play test goes till the 13th
