AG Spotlight Warren McCarren

Warren Co SWCD is highlighting residents of Warren County that bring different perspectives to the agriculture industry. This year, our themed series of, “Past, Present, and Future” interviewed three different residents of Warren County that have retired from, currently work in, or have a future in the agriculture industry. Over the coming months, we will release a new interview series ahead of our 80th Annual Meeting. This month we focus on agriculture in the present with current farmer Warren McCarren. If you have been keeping tabs with the Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District office, Warren McCarren’s name might sound familiar to you. In 2023, Warren and his wife, Jonda, were awarded the 2023 Cooperator of the Year in Warren County for their dedication to natural resource conservation in Warren County. In 2022, Warren worked with our office to secure a grant from the Ohio EPA for the construction of a cascading waterway on the McCarren’s Farm. With the cascading waterway being one of the first of its kind in Southwest Ohio, their farm will serve as a research site for Central State University and help provide valuable data to help evaluate the effectiveness of cascading waterways.
