Tuesday 14 Sep 2021 : In Malaysia in around 1998 , near Batu Caves , there were cows and a Hindu relaxing on his motorbike. I inquired. He replied that the cows , somewhat unbelievably, had been driven all the way overland from Bharat (India) ! I expressed incredulity. He remained absolutely calm but engaged me in discussion. Few Americans will ever understand Asia , I barely do after decades of excruciating, mind-blowing effort. I now suppose such an effort to deliver the cows was motivated by religion. But the same decades of academic reading ... never cited nor revealed such "unofficial" , independent, humble but successful endeavors. They looked like happy cows. I remember.
I had a terrifying experience once. I was walking in the dark and all a sudden sensed something standing in front of me like about 10 meters away. I took one or two steps front and suddenly felt a massive unit jus charge for me, my instinct took over and I turned back and ran as fast as I could having no sense of direction. A lion can be stronger, A tiger can be stronger...Depends on the individual "Lions hunt in packs to kill a wildbeast." That is not a valid argument nor is it a valid reason to believe one animal is stronger just because the other one doesn't hunt in packs. Leopards hunt alone. Is a leopard stronger than a lioness?? This Gaur, colloquially called the "Bison" in the Nilgiris Mountains have killed many people with their horns when they feel intimidated. I've lived around these chaps in the Nilgiris for around 15 years. Pure muscle. They can jump fences from one tea estate to another and are very swift on their feet as well.
Linda Kloss, there are so many instances where tigers got killed by these Gaurs. Tigers are the main predators of these animals in the wild. Gaurs are actually the largest natural cattle in the world. Sometimes a fully grown male Gaur can weigh more than two tonnes and a cow can weigh one thousand five hundred to One thousand eight hundred kilos. They are huge and only muscle.
Just imagine all those millions of tigers in pre-colonial British India, "mmm I am in a mood for a feast, let me go to kodaikanal and feast on a gaur".
@Pavan Kumar lol that's not my point. Right from ancient India until the onset of the Colonial rule, tigers thrived in India. There were supposed to be 5 million tigers in India at 1800. But the hunting obsessed Europeans ravaged the jungles and killed them all with their Winchester's. I said pre colonial India because I was suggesting that there were many tigers all over the South Indian jungles then and they moved freely. Unlike now where there are only a few hundreds. Cheers.

Male gour is bigger & stronger than african male cape buffalo.
Chillax007 Yikes. That is huge!
Do you mean gaur
It might be larger in size but the caped Buffalo is more respected because it is more aggressive and kills more humans. The same way that the siberian tiger is larger in size but the bengal tiger is more aggressive and therefore ik known as the royal bengal tiger.
But Cape buffalo are more aggressive than gaur.

Oh Mr Vietnamese tree 🌲 , please dont eat all of our Indian cows
It turned out to be a large male Gaur that was blocking my path. Love these magnificent majestic creatures ❤️
So calm and peaceful and yet so deadly.

@@nbaairdog3124 not really
@@Just_Tey ahahhaha You Dumbshit, I never said they were 100% the same. Tigers aren't factually stronger than lions. The belief that tigers are stronger is purely based on assertions. They are both usually equal in physical strength. Both weigh nearly the same and have around 60% musclemass, similar skeletal and bone robusticity.. so there isn't a great difference between the cats when it comes to "physical strength". A lion can be stronger, A tiger can be stronger...Depends on the individual
"Lions hunt in packs to kill a wildbeast."
That is not a valid argument nor is it a valid reason to believe one animal is stronger just because the other one doesn't hunt in packs. Leopards hunt alone. Is a leopard stronger than a lioness?? A lone lion can easily kill a wildebeest, moron.

You're standing in front of an animal unharmed, without any signs of aggression, taking pics and saying it is dangerous. How hypocrite!!! We are threat for them.

Great capture My friend. I have been close to such herds many times when I visited the south Indian forests , especially the western ghats side. They are not aggressive so to say. They get aggressive if they sense harm to there calves, or detect pranksters and such. But many times i have seen they are so close to villagers and humans and cherish being patted and pampered.
I was in Kodaikanal last year and two of these beasts were running through the hills by the place I was staying. Amazing animals.
I have seen this beast very closely approx 10 feet from my car on the way to Ooty.

Cheers.
